Default Please Help! My STi Lights won't turn off!!!

After driving around town a bit, I come home and shut my car off. But for some reason, the circular orange bulb on the far top corners of my front lights won't turn off! Also, the middle lights in the rear (red) won't turn off either! Please help! I thought they were the break lights, but it's just the middle section of the rear break lights!

Please respond quickly if you know what's going on, because I don't want my batteries drained!

This sucks lamo!

There is a switch on top of your steering column, behind the steering wheel. It turns the parking lights on when the key is off and is the frequent reason for posts such as yours.

Thanks Paranoid and Mulder. I've always known that parking button was there, but never used it once. I must have accidently pushed it during my drive. Since I never had a car with a button specifically for the parking lights, so it never occured to me that it coud've been the reason why my lights are on.

Even though I was a complete moron, I still appreciate you two taking the time to help me out.

No matter how much Subaru charges for their cars, the owners still do not read their Owners Manuals.

Mods, can we please have a sticky at the top of every section that says "before posting read entire owners manual from front to back"

I am so serious.

Although it has happened to almost every scooby owner at one time or another more so since the new age Impreza came out, it was brave of you to post about it. Most people are too embarrassed to post it up. Oh one last thing enjoy the STi and welcome to a great group of car nuts!

Waterway does this to me every single time I have them do the interior. I guess part of their standard interior clean is to wipe down the top of the steering column, too bad they never look for a switch they just hit.

Fortunately I did read my owner's manual front to back, so I knew what happened the first time it happened

I really find it odd that Subaru has a separate button for the parking lights. Do other cars have such a feature?
