Pretty much to sum it up, this black guy stole 40 bucks from my friend today on bart...and I got up to do something about it...because I was pissed...and the guy flashed a knife at me. And the people on bart in that car didn't do a damn thing, and he got away..i don't really remember what he looked like..cept that he was black...he seemed pretty fit and if i had a gun...or just skillz in fighting people with a knife iwould have f'd him up royally. I hate that isht.

good thing he didn't pull that shize on my car, I would have socked him in the back of the head.
I hate BART...but I work in the city and have to take it. Last week I got caught in 4 delays. Was late to work 3 times and home once. Boss is kinda pissed....she is in LA...doesn't believe me that it was BART. I have never seen anything like that on my trains....just homeless dudes stinkin and sleepin....drunks...dudes commin down off the crack....kids selling crap....people beggin....people pass out...lady had a baby once.....stuff like that. I don't put up with those punk kids that come on and pull stupidity on the cars. I mean damn....that's like actin a fool in my car. |

When I lived in Berkeley and worked in the city, I took BART and absolutely HATED it.
Now that I live in the City and work in Menlo Park, I have to drive to work (my office is no-where near a Caltrain Station.) Now I would give ANYTHING to be able to take BART to work, driving on Bay Area freeways sucks ass. |

Yah, I got taken by some guy on a train playing some stupid scaming card game, after I took his ten bucks and he asked me if I wanted to double and I said no (tryin to scam a scammer) he just reached in my wallet and took his money back plus my 40 bucks in there. I tried to file a report with BART police and they wouldnt even listen to me.

let me get this strait...you let someone actually take money out of your wallet while you were holding it?
Was he heavily armed? If not then what the hell? Sorry to not be so nice but there is no way somene under 350 pounds and 6 foot 7 is gonna take money out of my wallet and not get a fight for it unless he's packing.....even 40 bucks. my other suggestion....these guys are scam artists...they set you up....you didn't fall. But regardless...here is the suggestion...never let them see how much money you have on you and if you take money from them in their games and bail out.....put it in your pocket..you cna put it in your wallet later. I was in the city with someone that got taken for $40 probably by the same guy. But my friend was a tourist and just dumb...got scammed. |

Man, that is wrong! Good thing you didn't get hurt though...
I take bart almost everyday. What time did it happen? On which direction/ station/ cart( front, back, middle)? I better look around who is around me....Don't want that to happen... Besides this, I think our bart is dirty and nasty. And stop jacking the price up. |

I take BART almost everyday from Daly City to Berkeley. That particular line, I don't really have that many problems with. I really never had any trouble with delays. BART is better sometimes during commute times, but if you can schedule yourself around traffic, then it's okay to drive.
Word of advice for you. Get on the trains that are closer to the front, they tend to have more people and there's less chance of stuff happening. I haven't been robbed, but I've seen people pleasuring themselves... so yea... |

Riding in the rain takes the right gear (rainsuit and heated vest/gloves makes it kinda fun actually), and a little getting used to, but even the heaviest downpour on the coldest day of the year is still 10x better than sitting in traffic hell being cut off by lane-jumping morons every few seconds as you creep toward your destination. I can get to work in as little as half the time, and arrive refreshed. ![]() |

I use BART most days, and I'm glad I have it, as driving from Fremont to Berkeley more than 2 days a week challenges my sanity.
But a few years ago I seem to recall seeing a study that said it was one of the least safe public transit trains in the U.S. A couple months ago there was some obviously mentally disturbed guy running around the train threatening to kill people . . . yeah, it would have been nice to see a BART police person at some point during that ride. |

What's going on, no one mentioned the pan-handlers and that guy that sells boot-leg DVDs for $10?!
I'll admit though, there are some cute gals that ride, that's at least something... |
