MPB - TOTALLED.. :(

Talking Unabashed Soliciting - if you need a new Car stereo...

Ok, I admit it - I have no shame!! If anyone needs a car stereo, video, navigation, radar detector, alarm, remote start, etc... come see me in Tweeter in Salem NH and I will do what I can to help you out with it. Either stop by the store and ask for Jeff (the one with the WRX as there are two Jeff's working there) or just PM me and we can setup a time to meet.

Also - if you need anything else that Tweeter sells - TV's, Home Theater, etc - I can help with that too...

P.S. to the Mods - not sure if this should be posted here or in another forum... sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I'm not looking to buy anything, I'm just wondering if I know you. Did you go to Tyngsboro schools? I graduated from THS in 95, and have lived in Nashua for the last year.

Too late! I just bought some nice MB Quarts from a guy at the Burlington Tweeter store. He has a white 2.5 RS, and knows his stuff when it comes to Subarus. I'm getting them installed there later next week.

02SilvaWagon - if we know each other, it's not from High School! I just moved to Tyngsboro 3 years or so ago and grew up in NY...

Red Rocket - yeah, we can definitely do that. I'll be in today from 1-9, tomorrow from 3:30-9 and Sat from 10-7. Either stop in then or just PM me...

Thumbs up

My Tweeter connections grow larger!

I had a very extensive car install done roundabout June 2000 in the Portsmouth store. The guy who was the install chief back then, is now head of car sales for the Manchester store, Joe Dougherty. He didn't actually do my install but he's familiar with my car.

Alpine CDA-7940 head unit
AudioControl Four.1i line driver/EQ
Alpine MRV-F353 amp (one of their older five-channels)
Boston RC61 front components (ye olde Rally Series )
DEI coaxials in the rear (6" and those didn't come from Tweeter)
Boston Competitor 1000 sub
Monster Cable

The EQ, amp, cabling and subwoofer were all new. The rest of it I previously owned. I have a very slick trunk install for my amp and sub, and have the RC61s in carpeted kick panels.

The only thing I could do to upgrade my system that would cost under $500 would be a new head unit. But I'm not exactly in the money, these days.

What I want for new stuff is a set of Boston Z5 (they'd make for smaller kick panels than my 6.5"s are, which'd be good) components along with a Pro sub and the new Boston 5-channel amp. Plus either an Alpine or Eclipse HU. Might try Eclipse the next time around, for variety. My system is awesome but the amp is definitely the weak link. It's very nice, but nowhere near as powerful or as clean as the new BAs are.

Someday...

I agree - the BA Amps do kick much ass. I am also really partial to JL Amps. I have the 5005 in my car and it pounds. As for head units. Alpine = Features, Eclipse = Audiophile Sound Quality. It's really a matter of which is more important to you. We have a killer deal on an Alpine Head unit right now - I forget the details (too early in the morning) but I think it is around $300.00-$350.00 price range. It has no internal Amp but with your 5 channel that shouldn't be a problem.

BTW - I know Joe D. He was still doing installs in Portsmouth when I first started working there (at the Portsmouth store). He then went to Manch and I went to Salem. Stop by to say HI sometime. If you see the Black WRX Wagon then you know I am there!

This is very convenient, I was just about to go there this weekend to check out some equipment anyways. Good timing.

WRXBanish - When are you working this weekend? If you're going to be working this weekend there's a good chance I'll stop by (I frequent the Salem area quite often).
