Thumbs up Your Dream WRX is at Carlsen

Sorry if someone has mentioned this already, but I just saw a nice blue WRX sedan in the Carlsen Subaru showroom with some extra goodies:

17" BBS rims with RE011 tires: $4,200
Leather interior: $1,300
Dark tints: $400

For a grand total of about $31,500 (yikes!)

Unfortunately it's an automatic, and the leather looks aftermarket (not as sharp as a factory job). But the car looks good!

BTW, they also have plenty of those R&T WRX guides sitting in boxes.

Dave

that's not even a question of markup, that's just ridiculous options
jesus, $4200 for rims and tires? When you could have stronger and lighter rims for half the price..........
somebody will buy it though, you know....

P2x:

R&T = Road and Track. The R&T WRX Guide contains the recent road test article they did, and several other articles and lots of pictures. It makes a nice souvenir, and they have plenty in cardboard boxes by the brochure rack.

sybir:

I would have a hard time justifying $4,200 for rims and tires as well, considering that the car only costs $25K, but these are forged BBS rims. I thought forged = "light and strong"?

Yeah, I think $4200 is too much. I am looking at getting a set of Forgeline rims that will cost around $2200, and these are larger size rims as well (17X9 and 17X11). You are almost always better off getting aftermarket parts (except for maybe the leather) yourself.

17' Volk SE37s weigh 13lbs. and wheels alone will run you $1900-$2000. They are forged. They look better. They are more unique. I also hate leather interiors and would only tink the rear three windows STI style. Nuf said.

Nope, the 17x9 and 11 are for another car. Don't have an impreza, but wouldn't mind having one. Nothing like turbos and awd, all on a 4 door sedan that is relatively light.
