Default Which is faster in the top end, Forester XT or WRX?

I'm assuming the XT because of the 2.5 liter engine, but I can't find any sort of write up on 40 - 60, 60 - 80, 80 - 100mph times.

I've only raced a WRX from the line to about 60 mph, beat it without any contention, but I have no clue what they do up top.

Since my Forester has Aerodynamics similar to a brick, I'm assuming drag coefficient will have some effect on my times

Can anyone shine some light on this subject?

Bry.

I would guess the WRX would win due to higher horsepower, smaller frontal area, and lower drag coefficient.

Both might be electronically limited to 130mph anyway, but I'd think WRX would get there quicker.

As far as I understand it, the WRX (5MT) is "drag limited" to 143 mph.

I know some have claimed higher, but I think the 143mph for a stock '02-'03 5MT would be about right.
That's about where mine ran out of 'steam' when stock.

Probably the WRX due to .cd and the lower redline/shorter gearing of the XT.

Thats what I was assuming, the XT can get to 135 mph WAY too easily. The WRX's I've driven seem to take their sweet time to get past 100 mph though.

WRX's also have taller gears.

Shorter gears+More power (possibly)=quicker.
