Ryan,

Why don't you talk to Aaron about extending the AzScooby site. Maintaining a current events section or some such thing. Pages don't have to be on the same server to be part of the same site.

Default What?

It'd be very easy to put a link on the AzScooby site to a recent events page that Ryan maintains on a server that Ryan has access to. Then, he can update stuff without Aaron needing to do anything. If there's a disagreement on content, it's also easy enough to yank the link. That's the wonder of the Internet, no?

It's just an idea. Let those who have time and interest do the things they're interested in doing.

Especially since it'll be cooling down soon, it would be good idea to do the Pavillions thing... Everybody could meet at In N Out at Desert Ridge to eat, and then roll up to Pavillions for a little while. Having a bunch of Suby's rollin through would be sweet!

Now I just need an engine!!

i agree, starting something new would be nice....it would symbolize some thing new that WE started from scratch, and not needing to bite off az.scooby (no offense to anyone)but the personal satisfaction it would give to all of us here on nasioc and anyone else new to come.keep up the idea cuz i think this is a good idea and for some reason more people are getting involved well keep us posted!

Default az subaru club

thanks for the help guys and girls. your input has help me in making my decision. i am going to go ahead with my original idea and start up an arizona based subaru club. i have already built the site and i just purchased the site name. i am always up for ideas and comments, so if anyone has any ideas for the site or club let me know. i have already set up a few drives for later this month and the months to come. as soon as the site is up and running (hope for this weekend) i will post them and let everyone know dates and times that we can vote on. i will also be organizing a monthly or bi monthly gathering. i have heard ideas about the pav. and whatnot and it sounds good to me. ill post up some info about weekend events in california and nevada that i have begun to organize with ca and nv clubs. they are just waiting on az to get there crap together and get a club that can represent az. so since i wanna go drive and meet other subie guys outside of our state i jumped on the gun and started building a club. i have talked with a friend up here that ownes a graphics store, and he said he can hook us up with discounted stickers and shirts. so that ball is rolling. the drive and meets ball is rolling, the out of state meets ball is rolling. i would like to thank jon (flag_02_2.5RS) for his help in setting up the site and letting us borrow some of his web hosting space. more details are coming and ill let everyone know when the site is up and what is going on. for now the site will be azsclub.com. again thanks and remeber keep it under a 100--- Ryan

Ok...Steve, I'm with you and the other guys. Who cares who it goes through as long as people are willing to get together and hang. There aren't going to be even 2 people that like exactly the same thing anyway. I'll check it out!

The biggest and best meet of the year is in a few weeks in Las Vegas...that would be a great event for anyone who wants to meet a ton of Subaru owners...

I'm not sure it's an "old school" or "new school" thing myself, but I've been on this board for a year now and there have only been a handful of get together's that are actually instigated by the AZScooby people. Personally, it doesn't matter to me who coordinates or "approves" the meets, just that there is stuff to do. I work Saturday's now so I have less time to do things and if there's more to choose from there might be more participation if that's what people are looking for...just my .02

Let's see professional, family, 50th birthday in a couple weeks - I guess I don't fit in or understand the Subaru mystique. Anyone wanna buy my 320 HP 2.5RS Turbo so I can get something more appropriate to my geriatric status.

That is the way I looked at it as well. I considered any AZ meet organized here a NASIOC/SWIC/AzScooby/AZSubaru enthusists/etc. meet... I have always been of the opinion anyone can organize a meet that could be fun. Horshack has arranged some fun dyno days, Vivid has arranged some big racing meets, etc. I didn't realize people were waiting for a select few to arrange meets...

I have actually been very happy that some of the newer posters here have been so excited about Subarus and have planned meets. Unfortunatly I have been unable to attend many lately. But I think it is great.

I know for a fact that the AZ Subaru community always has downtime in the summer. I have seen it year in and year out. It is just going to be a fact of life during the 110+ days not many people find it enjoyable to stand outside and talk cars. Usually this is the time where things start picking up again as the weather is getting better...So on that note when are we going to the Pavillions, I have some new bling bling items to show off

Regards,

Aaron

Question

So, what's the relationship between AzScooby & AzSubaru? What are the objectives of each? More importantly, what's going to happen to my 10% discount at Pitre?

Just asking the questions that are on everyone's minds.

Default azsclub

its not a battle between azscooby and azsclub. i wanted to start a subaru club since the day i bought my car in april. it was my idea to get a more local and more organize club going. i knew about azscooby and i never saw anything going on. i knew about nasioc.com and thats a giant catch all forum/club. now i dont have a problem with azscobby. i have never meet aaron or kastle althought i would like to some day. i have set up a site to post pictures and video's of our drives. the site also has a place to post up info on meets and drives that i have set up, and if one person shows up great. if not then oh well i tried. i am not going to have anything special like discounts at pitre, vendor status on my forum, just a few basic things all on one site. maybe it does look like old school vs new school, its not a battle. hope to see some of you on the site. thanks, peace ryan

it's not a competition

if someone else wants to start a club and organize some events, i dont get why that's taken as a bad thing against AZScooby

correct me if im wrong, but NOBODY here has anything against az scooby

So...

New school AZ subarus vs. AZscooby mortal kombat style?

I don't really care where the planning comes from either. I'm up for whatever you guys want to do. I still think we should have a karting day.
