Talking Local dealer lost their Sube franchise!

Steve White Subaru/Audi/VW here in Greenville has just lost their Subaru franchise due to pending lawsuits on questionable business practices. Not to mention they only have one Sube on the lot, an Outback Wagon.

The Saab/Jag dealer is getting the franchise now, excellent news. I went over there to talk to them and they know more about Subaru than any of the salespeople or managers did at Steve White, and they don't even sell the cars yet! They all seem pumped about the WRX.

I just thought I'd share, this put me in an excellent mood.

Yes, they are. It's pretty funny actually, I've never seen such a rate of turnover at a dealership. They've been through (I'm told) four different GMs and three GSMs in the past year and a half. The sales guy I spoke to there last week told me he was third in the line of seniority and he'd only been there four months. Hehe!

I'm really glad about this, it was the worst dealership I've ever been to. About a year ago I went in there when I was thinking about buying an RS, and the sales guy I talked to had to go ask his manager whether the RS would be available in a sedan for 2000/2001, and the manager said it wouldn't! He was rather adamant about it in fact, and that was in May of 2000.

What a bunch of losers. I'm glad Steve White lost their franchise. The folks at Fairway Saab/Jaguar have been great whenever I've gotten my Saab serviced there, now I hope the same excellent standard of service will continue with the WRX.

There was a dealership in Olympia that lost most of it's franchises.. now they just do used car and auto rebuild.
I wouldn't go to them though, when I got my Bronco fixed there it was really mildewy inside.

I guess you really have to lower the bar on yourself really, really far to be so stupid as to loose a franchise....

Well I can see more than a few dealers changing hands as The local Ford dealer had to get rid of the Subaru dealer on thier lot.

Really strange way to work a dealership. Different sides of the same complex, owned by the same person, but completely different dealerships.

Unfotuneatly the dealership that owns it now is a bunch of scum.

Thats awesome. The next one to get the ax needs to be Russell Subaru, in Catonsville Maryland. When I still lived in Maryland, they had the worst reputation for customer service and satisfaction, the sales associates were pathetic and the managers were pricks! Thats just a small portion of my gripe with them.

Here in my town, my local dealer kicked Mercurys butt off the lot so its just a subie dealer now...largest in NY according to them.

You're forgetting Gerald Jones Subaru of Augusta, GA. TWICE now I have taken my car in for the same brake job (replace factory pads due to fade) and they haven't done it!

Both times they've said "technician sez it doesnt need new pads so we didnt put em on" despite a written note by ME saying:

-Put new pads on car

This is also the dealership who grinded off part of my undercarriage as a fix for a squeaky exhaust. The proper fix would have been to replace the rubber exhaust hangers that were stretched when I was rear-ended.

I hate that place, and yet it's the only subie shop in under an hour's drive. I'm glad I didn't buy my car there, I drove 4 hours to Troncalli Subaru in Atlanta... excellent dealer - no fuss no muss, walked in with a cheque and walked out with the keys, for about $80 over invoice.

I'm putting a call into SOA in regards to Gerald Jones Subaru of Augusta's latest antics regarding my car. The service manager told me my brake problems were due to 'someone' using their left foot on the brake pedal, which you "just can't do in subaru's because the brake system can't take it." He then proceeded to tell me about his 20 years subaru experience blah blah blah when I called him a fscking crooked dealer full of bull****.

I then got my keys, and did a wonderfull powerslide through his grass median and onto the highway. Ooops? Was that a new Volvo Cross Country wagon behind me? Oh dear I hope those bits of gravel and rock didn't chip the paint.
