Default Best philllips based hid kit?

I am in search for a H1 6000k H.I.D conversation kit witch uses phillips capsules and ballast for my 04' WRX reflector head lights.
Funny thing is that the other day i went to a retail shop where they tried installing a H1 hella ballast H.I.D kit using relays and everything on my 04' seemed not to work. The lights were completely dead but when they wired it stright from the battery there was reponse. This inccident has never occured to them and there suggesting is that it has something to do with the ECU. I have a freind that drives a GDA WRX that has a phillips kit from
" Polarion " and was a perfect fit for his GDA.
Does anyone know what my problem is?,and any advice on what H.I.D kit i should own?
Thank you

Was the shop aware of how the Subaru headlight system works? It is a common positive, switched ground system. If they didn't know this and had no info regarding the wiring that would explain why they couldn't get it to work.
Ground the ballasts directly, and connect the positives to the common headlight power. They should work. If you want to add the relays the only place they should be used is on the positive side to switch the power from the battery but as long as you have the direct ground the relays aren't essential.
PM me if you want to discuss this further.
