Saw my first WRX on the highway last night...and the guy ignored me

Last night I was coming home from work and I see this blue car up ahead that kind of looks like an RS, so I speed up and manouver through some traffic. I get within about 3 car lengths and see the Subaru badge, but it didnt look right, at first I thought it was MY00 because of the small wing. When I get within about 5-10 feet I see the WRX badge, and I was amazed. I pull up next to it and give the guy a big thumbs up and he doesnt even aknowledge me. I proceed to make a point of hanging next to him and his wife looks over once and he never moves his head in my direction

....grrrr....probably a Honda convert. Anyway, it looked much bigger than I thought it would.

man i get thumbs up "usually" when i see a RS owner. hmm shady people suck imho but oh well i guess someone just needs to pull the stick out of their arse to get a smile.

Possibly another one of those people who have to have whatever the new thing is. I had a neighbor who was that way. He changed his car every couple years as did his wife. Only diff was that the wife had to have whatever SUV was the most popular that year. The guy will likely never understand why the rest of us wanted the car in the US. All he cares about is being seen in it.

Sure it's not the new Hyundai Sonata GX? From the rear it looks like a WRX.
Like yesterday, I thought I was watching a WRX commercial as it was showing a silver car driving really fast on a twisty wet road avoiding all kinds of cars. The rear looked like a WRX. Before I could jump for joy, it flashed Hyundai Sonata.

Yeah, why all this speculation about what kind of arsehole the guy was? He was driving a WRX which no one has yet!!! I doubt he is a buyer, its probably a pre-production model that the journalists have been playing with. I *wish* this guy was some regular smoe who bought a WRX to be cool, because that would mean that deliveries are starting early!!

Since somebody posted that a dealership up that way is going to have the car for display today and tomorrow, it was probably just some delivery guy.

There aren't any owners yet.

HAHA, well if you guys and gals have seen justins car then you might understand why the guy didnt look over, justin man your car looks like it has a stage 20 turbo on it, the wing and greddy front lip make it look awesome and not to mention my old gold wheels hehe, i think he didnt look over because his wife was scared or somthing haha

My opinion(obviously) is to get used to it. Most of the WRX owners are converts and most likely won't have the enthusiasim for the Subaru RS WRX line as most of us. They won't give the lowly RS owners the time of day. Like Mustang Cobra owners with the V-6 owners. "They aren't real mustangs".
It sucks but it will happen. That is until you show them a thing or two if you have a Turbo.

It really doesn't bother me as much as my angry face smilie would suggest.

It could very well have been a dealer who was just taking the car out for a ride with his wife, although it did have regular tags. I realize that many WRX owners wont acknowledge us, oh well, that it is their loss, they will be missing out on a great community. Greg, thanks for the compliments, I recently put the rear bumper skirts on and I am still waiting for delivery of the turbo, I am getting antsy....need boost.

my story is better. i saw a WRX on I-95 last night. i pull up next to him and give him a big thumbs up, and he flipped me off and sped away. i thought it was pretty funny. but the thing is, is that i caught up to him going around a 100mph (dont flame, my car, i do what i want) and he got pissed off again and flipped me off again. it was very funny, i got a laugh out of it.

I am really scared that this is how most of the new WRX owners will be. The type that buy the "new thing". Weather it be a WRX or a minivan. I love how everyone that drives an RS waves when I see them on the road. If I get a WRX I'll most likely get the same reaction you guys got from those jerks.

Although I will be considered a convert/newbie I have no plans to "scoff" at RS owners. I have been a Subaru fan for 3 years and have just been waiting for Subaru to ante up and bring the WRX. I was strongly considering getting an RS but I really wanted the factory turbo car. I respect RS owners and look at them as the people who paved the way for the introduction of the WRX. Later, C

the thing that pisses me off the most is that the RS was the high line impreza, now people are looking down on us. With out us there would be no WRX in the states
