I've been looking high and low for a good downpipe that would either keep the midpipe cat or have a highflow cat with it. Gotta have at least one cat, whether it is a highflow cat or it's the stock cat.
I have the Cobb Catback (and Stage 1), so it's a 3" center pipe to axel back. This is what I'm looking at: Turbo XS Super Huge Downpipe And get this one as well: Turbo XS 3" High Flow Cat These to mate up with my Cobb-Catback. Once installed, I'll go from Cobb Stage 1 to Cobb Stage 2. Anyone got anything to say about this? I'm looking to see if this setup will work - for the long run. Mainly something that will last, something that will pass emissions without having to swap pipes every year (just to do that), and something that will FIT.. Ie... downpipe connected to the... Mid pipe... Mid pipe connected to the.. (ok )Let me know what you think.

the TurboXS Downpipe and 3rd cat will not mate up to your Cobb catback.
What you need is the TurboXS Downpipe and Cat-back-adapter ($488 together from TurboXS). You see, TurboXS's standard cat doesn't have the same kind of flange and location as the stock 3rd cat so any catback that is made to work with a stock setup won't work with the TurboXS. HOWEVER, the TurboXS midpipe will fit stock or any made-to-fit-stock muffler. |

Youll have a catless turboback with the txs catback adapter. If the cobb axleback portion of the catback bolts up in the same fashion as stock, you can run the turboxs downpipe-cat-midpipe and leave the cobb midpipe off the car.

Having to get rid of Cobb's midpipe and go with TXS, that'll run me another $149 just for that pipe alone. But if they won't fit, then they just won't fit and that is the route I'd have to go.
Wonder if I could sell a 3" Cobb mid-pipe all by it'self? ![]() |
