Thumbs up Looks great!

How much of a lift is that, and how was it done? What size wheels and tires? Is there a turbo under the hood? Is that black, or the new Mystic Blue monotone?

RS,

Glad that you like it.

There is a turbo in there....we installed an AVO 2.5 Turbo Kit from SPO Motorsports. (I'm in Canada - no BAJA turbo for us)

My other thread in the BAJA forum has the full list of mods.

The lift kit and springs are made by an outfit called Scorpion. They tell me that they are Australian -- Xcceleration Subaru carries them in the US. The total package is about 3.5 to 4 inches higher than stock. (It has a really nice stance when you are right beside it)

The wheels are 17" with Michelin 4x4 Synchrone tires (225/55/17).

Thanks for your interest.

Sorry RS,

Your other question:

It is Black. I had all of the body panels removed and painted.

Thanks

Subaru actually has the unpainted hoods (w/ scoop) for the upcoming BAJA turbo -- which I don't believe are for sale yet.

We got one of the hoods from them and had it painted black.

The underhood ducting came with the turbo kit.

Wow, that is really nice. I wish Subaru had more monotone color choices than Silver, because I'm really starting to hate silver (last car was silver also), but I really don't like two-tone cars. Nice job on yours.

"I wish Subaru had more monotone color choices than Silver"

They do have Mystic Blue Pearl monotone. And unlike the silver, the blue matches nicely from the body to cladding in bright sunlight.

Well, based on personal experience, I think the Silver on Silver matches well. It looks a bit off when the body cladding gets dirty, but I'd assume any color would have that problem.

Also, initially when I bought the Baja, they didn't offer the blue. In fact, I think the blue was a limited color since many people haven't seen it. The sales rep said that Blue was in the system, but he's never actually seen or heard of one, and it wasn't offered in their catalog. I know its supposed to be a standard color for '04, but that didn't help me much back in April or May.

how are you doin JC?

many thanks to everyone who has posted thoughts regarding the tranny.

the torque converter came back from ProTorque and we had a tranny cooler installed......all I can say is - MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT! The vehicle really hooks up now and we have no fear of jumping on the throttle....it is working really well.

This looks GREAT! I am green with envy!

So, where did you buy your lift? Is there a Canadian outlet for it? Xcelleration in the US is have trouble getting the kit from Scorpion. They don't know how long it will be until they have them again. This long wait is leaving me feeling liftless! (sorry) .

;-)

I kinda laughed when I saw you guys resurect this post from 2003! This baja is a non-turbo that they added a turbo and hood to. Id be willing to bet everything including exhaust were custom fabbed.
