Default Omori Gauges

Just received my omori gauges and did a search on using the factory dimmer with the gauges and found no real solutions except for using diodes or a pot switch. Did anyone come up with any other solutions?

Also can I wire the 2 grounds of the omori gauge to a common ground? Can it be the ground wire in the clock harness?
I have 2 gauges so that would be a total of 4 ground wires hooked up to the clock ground wire. Any problem with that? I also plan on using the power and 12V switched off the clock harness as well.

Any feedback is much appreciated

unfortunately, because of the variable ground system Subaru uses, there really is no other way - you have to convert what the car is putting out into what the gauge wants to see.

You sure can, and the clock harness is fine (that's what most people use - I am using that for my Omori electronic boost gauge with no problems)

Not a problem.

That's the easiest place to grab it if you are putting the gauges on the dash somewhere or on the a-pillar.

Talking done with install

Just finished the install of my Omori boost and EGT. I have the ones with the included color adjustment box and to my surprise you can vary the intensity of the gauge lights. I'm very happy now all I have to do is decide where to tap for my EGT probe, manifold or downpipe.

Thanks

My apologies for a momentary thread-jack, but I gotta ask:

sti_rx7

What color are the needles on those Omori multicolors, and where did you get them? Pictures show white with a red tip, but other have told me they are solid red needles, while some have said they are pure white needles.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.....
