Default Who's got a splitter?

If so, which one and how much?
I just got my STi hood scoop and wondered if a splitter was necessary.

Maybe I could take a look during one of the local meets?

Are you using the stock intercooler?
If so you don't need the STi splitter since it is for the bigger STi intercooler and doesn't seal well with the stock one.
Now if you have a big top mount, then you will want the splitter/seal to get good scoop -> intercooler flow.

Yeah, I'm using the stock IC so I guess I'll hold off until I upgrade to a bigger top mount IC.

Thx

I also suggest waiting until you get a larger innercooler. I used the GT Spec splitter with my stock IC and there was alot of vibration during driving. Went back to stock splitter and everything is much better.

I'm using an STi hood scoop with stock WRX intercooler. Quantum Racing has a splitter for stock and STi intercoolers. I bought a simple splitter from Russ. It costs something like $35 shipped and is an easy install with no drilling required. Works and fits great and retains the factory rubber seal that mates up to the IC.

If you decide to check out Russ' one-vane splitter, contact him via the e-Bay link because his item may have expired. Unfortunately, I've forgotten his screename on NASIOC but I have his e-mail address somewhere. He shipped promptly by Priority Mail.

If you plan on upgrading to a larger TMIC in the near future then I'd wait on a splitter.

If for some reason you decide on a splitter i can sell you a zerosports replica for really really cheap. It looks really aggresive when you're looking at it through the Sti hood scoop but i don't think it's really needed. There's only so much you can do with wind turbulence. I can imagine that it would do more with high HP applications but i wouldn't bother.

Save your money on something else. And if for any reason you decided on a "sti splitter" i'd recommend a Spec C/ Ra Sti V7 style one so you could mount IC spray nozzles. However, if you decided to go IC spray route just get the IC sprayer from Quantun Racing... you really can't beat it with any other IC spray kit for the price (unless you go DIY). Plus it comes with two brackets for mounting the nozzles that fit on the WRX splitter.

So they aren't worth it IMHO... not to mention most replicas and aftermarket splitters don't fit too well.

I made my own splitter, since the APS splitter was the only one that would fit the TurboXS Hyperflow TMIC. And I cant see myself paying $160 for a splitter. Peep it. $25 and a smile:
