Default STi crash numero dos (no pics sorry)

Here is an even more blatant case of parent negligence and teenager stupidity...

So I was at school, and I was alerted to the fact that a kid, who used to attend our school, had just recieved a brand new STi, blue on gold. Before I go any further I must describe this kid...

...He used to attend my school (Bellevue High), but was failing (miserably) and skipping class and consequently was kicked out. So he (instead of attending the alternative high school--Robinswood) choose to go to a private school where you pay for grades. His family is quite wealthy, they live in Medina on Lake Washington and are very privileged. He also is a very heavy drug user--exctasy, mushrooms, marijuana etc.--and obviously not exactly the most mature, upstanding citizen, either. His parents knew of his drug use (even caught him in the act), yet they did nothing (they were very lenient, even indifferent). He would often take his mother's BMW 525i out at night and then return in the morning. His parents knew he was doing all these things-yet did not care just so long as he was not in trouble with the law enforcement. He even broke the transmission on his dad's Range Rover (which he stole for the night), yet was never grounded, reproved, or otherwise punished or even forced to recompense.

Anyways, when I heard that he had been given an STi for his car, I made the prediction that he would crash it within one week.

I was a day short.

He let his friend (who is a local marijuana dealer) drive it. They were both intoxicated and I would assume also going very fast, and smashed into a guardrail. The car is going in for "repairs", but everyone knows that it is totaled. The funniest part? I heard that they were both crying when it was towed away

They're just lucky that they didn't kill anyone, which they had a very good chance of accomplishing.

The moral: Drive safely.

Cliffnotes: Druggie 16 year old lets his drug-dealer friend (both are intoxicated) drive his new STi, crashes it after only a week of ownership.

i know there are tax deferred college savings plans parents can plow money into to pay for future college plans. how about tax deferred therapy and drug treatment plans? If you dont have enough time or interest to be truly involved in your childrens lives, well you can get a tax break and invest in their future needs in a different way.

Saw a post on the SoCal forum. A sales manager took 3 kids out for a "ride around the block" and pilled up a brand new STI. Everyone is ok, but someone is probably looking for a new job.
