Mitsubishi America announced they are going to prticipate in two N. America rallies.
Maybe setting the ground for a possible Evo import?

Cool! Maybe they'll take an EVO VI and run a Hyundai Tiberon motor in it. (If you follow rallying here in the US you'll understand)

I know of some SCCA ProRally drivers in the US who have a white Evo. That is the machine!!! I was @ the Irish Hills Rally in New York this summer and you could hear it so far away winding up and popping in between gears.... I love it!!!

Michael Fennell (navigator) and Garen Shrader (driver) in their 1998 Mitsubishi EVO IV at Maine-2000 Rallye. See them this weekend at Prescott Rallye in Arizona.

Great pic I was thinking of Frank Cunningham.
Is theirs a right hand drive? I can't tell. [This message has been edited by Subi Chick (edited September 27, 2000).] |

I don't know their names, but at the Wild West rally there was a EVO 4, and two EVO 5's. Or something like that, one of the EVO 5's was right hand drive though.

Tangmere has it dead on. Drop the 140hp Tiburon engine into that beast and cover it with Mitsubishi decals and you've got yourself a well-funded rally racer!
OK, so maybe Mitsu's a little more distinguished than Hyundai. I'm just glad to see them thinking of bringing over an EVO. As long as they don't Neonize it. |

Maybe if you guys are lucky I'll be able to run by a performance shop around the area and take a few pics... they should have 5-6 Evo's laying around and maybe a WRX or two if we're lucky.
