Default UPS SUCKS! Lost my rim

Well my rim's is considered lost!!!! I can't believe this! I had purchase a set of 4 volk le28n 18x7.5 rims and only received 3 of them. Now I'm searching all over the place wondering who has this in stock and is willing to sell me just one. I know importhookup has a set they are willing to break up but charging extra so its like $580 I believe for a rim plus I have to buy tires and the center cap. IF anyone knows who has this in stock can help me out it will be well appreaciated. I say F%$%# UPS

have your shipper place a claim since it should have been insured.

haha I shouldve just bought your rims norseone. He said he insured them and he already filed the claim. Just waiting for the money and trying to find someone who has it in stock. What sucks is it is only insured for $600 and I have to pay retail for just one rim which is like $740 with tires and the center cap!!!

I vote for Airborne Express/DHL. I bought an exhaust from New Jersey last Wednesday, and it arrived at my door on Friday. And it was expected to not be delivered until the 22nd of this month.

I also ordered another part via UPS the same night. The part is coming from Michigan. I checked the status on it tonight. It is still in Illinois.

UPS teh suck!!!!

Seems like I have a story about every one of these guys. So I'll try to make this short.

My mom had some antique that had been broken and she'd sent it off to to a restorer. It was worth a lot of money, so it was insured. They sent it back DHL.

My parents live in the middle of nowhere, about 10 miles form the nearest town, which is only 600 people, 30 miles from the nearest towns of a few thousand. Apparently the DHL driver didn't feel like driving into the middle of nowhere, so he left it with some random person in one of those towns. Without telling my mom, the company that shipped it, or really explaining what he had in mind to the person he left it with.

My mom only finally got the package after she filed a claim, and they realized how much the package was insured for . . . and made the delivery guy get the package and actually deliver it. Until she filed the claim, they just ignored her and said the package had been delivered.

seriously though I think there should be some investigation beccause think about it, in my situation I had 4 packages and you could tell they where tires because it wasnt in a box but rather a plastic bag. Anyways, I recieved 3 packages and 1 was missing. So what in the hell happened to the last package??? weird!

Well UPS is only covering $100 of the claim, dont ask me why, I have been arguing with them for over an hour. I guess I will have to pay the other $400 from my check, i get paid on the 25th, so I can paypal it then. This really sucks, I have lost over $1,000 on these wheels, that I didnt even use. Wish things didnt work this way, I am never using UPS again. I have shipped over 160 things with them in the last 6 momths and no problems. Sorry man, Ill get money their soon.
I SWEAR HE SAID THEY WHERE INSURED FOR $600 EVEN HAVE THE EMAIL PROOF SO *** IS GOING ON????

I did put insurance on the wheels/tires, but they are not covering it. Believe me, this is the last thing I want.

As I said via PM, I will be paying you back $400 out of my pocket when i get paid on the 25th, and the $100 from UPS as soon as it gets here.

I am very, very sorry this happen, I will end up losing close to $700 on wheels/tires I never even used.

Thumbs down

This sucks for both of you guys. Just goes to show you that you always insure for the total amount that it costs to replace the item. That you way you can cover your a-hole.

And how the hell do they lose a rim/tire? Its not like it can disappear, roll away, etc...

They should be able to find it.

Many years ago I had a pair of ported aluminum heads for a big-block Chevy shipped from southern CA to Redwood City. The pair was stolen from inside the UPS distribution center. Fortunately, the heads were fully insured for replacement and it only cost me a few weeks down time.

Since that one issue, haven't had a problem with UPS or any other shipper.

Its aite!!! Actually found a replacement at a local shop MACH III. Nice price too since im local... But yah I think im going to stay away from shipping expensive items for a while. Better off doing everything local... NOw I Just need to worry about the money..... which is obviously not enough to cover the rim, center cap, and tire...

In other words, FedEx lost the package. As an added bonus, since the delivery person entered the wrong address, they claimed it wasn't my package anyway and I had no business asking where it had been delivered. And that's the short version.

I agree with Gagan, FedEx is no better.

I work for UPS and i've seen it all. I've seen us screw up (a lot) and I've seen the customer screw up (shippers, and they screw up more than we do. And i know this because all I do is deal with both shippers and recievers all day long on a local level).

In today's society you probably could push the blame for a shooting off on UPS for leaving bullets on someones front porch. I mean why would you blame the parents for not teaching their kids that stealing is wrong? Or blame the parents for not letting their kids have a gun in the first place? Or blame the parents for raising kids that arent emotionally equipped to deal with other kids who are just going to tease them like kids have teased each other since kids have been in existance.

No, its UPS's fault that some delinquint kid would STEAL bullets from someone else's front porch, ILLEGALLY procure a deadly weapon and then take out his frustration in a bloody massacre. Sure, that makes a lot of sense. I heard a jewish UPS driver misdelivered a package for hitler and that UPS is responsible for WWII and the holocaust too

NOW, as for the rest of the thread, let me lay the claims process out for you so there are some brains behind the finger pointing.

1. UPS insures ALL packages for 100$ free of charge. If this guy says they're only honoring 100$ of the claim then guess what? He didnt pay for any insurance and if he tells you he did he's full of ****. I deal with claims all day long and UPS doesnt just say "well we're only partly at fault so we'll cover 1/5th of the insured value". If they're giving him 100 then they would give him 600 had he insured the package for 600.

2. EVEN IF HE HAD insured it for 600 and that wasnt enough to cover the price of the rim and you guys are going to take a loss then why the hell didnt he insure it for however much the g**d*mn rim is worth???? I wouldnt expect insuring a package to be such a big deal. More than likely he jacked you by charging you as if he paid for insurance and then shipped it with the free 100$ standard insurance and pocketed the extra money because the last 160 times he shipped something UPS it went perfectly and there was no need for it. Now he's passing his big mistake onto you.

3. Mistakes happen. I personally have had countless things shipped UPS (more before i worked there than since) and I have NEVER had a problem with them. Ever. Same goes for the US postal service, which I use quite frequently since the rates are so cheap. As far as I'm concerned US-PS can do no wrong. They may take more time to get there but its gauranteed. Fed ex, on the other hand, Has delivered 4 things to me in the past, 3 of which they totally screwed up. (one they put a bad address on the package and despite my efforts never corrected it and it almost got RTSed, only reason it didnt was because the central recieving place that I sent it to knew me and wouldnt let them). Another was a CD burner that got trashed in transit, somehow. Third was a box they delivered to my leasing office, never told anyone or attempted at my appartment and then when i tracked it a week later it said "delivered to customers location" (which, at UPS is enough to get a driver fired).

Anyway, I hope this cleared something up for you. Your shipper scammed you, any package handling company is going to make a mistake because its staffed by people who make mistakes, and for as big as UPS is compared to as small as Fed Ex is (relatively), Fed ex makes way more mistakes than it should.

Got a problem, AIM me. Got too much going on to hang out in this thread all night. DOHCexpresso

Spotch,

I do not appreciate you calling me a scammer. I shipped 4 boxes, 1 was lost. I paid $130 for shipping including insurance, but my CC bill and UPS site only show me paying $122. I have no clue what happen, but it really doesnt matter now.

bringndefinition,

Check PM and paypal.

I am very sorry about these problems, it was the last of my intentions. I hope everything now works out for you.

file a complaint at Better Business Bureau. UPS losing packages isn't news. They have a lot of thieves working within its own company. its a shame
