Post Where can I take my old tires to?

I am getting my new tires mounted onto the wheels I have now. I've check with some local shop. The best price I got was, wheels with no tires on them already, $60 out the door. With tires on, it's going to be $80. Yes, I am a cheap a$$ college kid that wants to save every penny. So I was planning on deflating the tires myself, cut them off, and trash them myself. But what do I do with the tires? I know you can't just trash them, where can I take them tires to? Thanks!

Yeah, that's about right.

Trust me, it ain't easy. Maybe if you were dealing with some mushy 185/80R15 Buick Skylark or whatever tires it would be possible, but you really need the proper tools for the Subaru ones.

$20 is only 3 hours' worth of work at In-N-Out.

If you're looking for cheap, give Farmer Jones Used Tires & Wheels a call. Their number is 408-293-7612. They're located on Monterey Highway near downtown San Jose. Very near the Pick N'Pull down there. I think they can beat your price including mount, balance, and disposal fees. Just don't expect a flashy place if you go.
