I'm about to install my Autometer Mechanical oil pressure gauge and i'm not sure which oil line to tap into to get my oil pressure reading. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Is this a fully mechanical gauge, with tubing that goes from the engine all the way to the gauge itself? If so you should exchange it for an electrical one. There is no good reason to install a mechanical gauge when electrical ones are just as accurate, and far safer because they don't require running a line with hot, pressurized oil into the passenger compartment.

Hey Ken,
I wouldn't worry about having oil leak into the cabin. Yes its possible, but if you are careful and hook everything up properly you won't have any problems. Make sure you use teflon tape on all the fitings. To tape for oil, underneath your intercooler there is a galley plug with an allen wrench hole in it. Go to your local dealer and buy the galley plug that is used in the stock oil pressure sender. You have the proper fitting to fit into the galley plug with the guage. I'd give you a link to the scoobymods directions but their server's down now.

As long as you use copper line or stainless steel braided line, it shouldn't leak for years. Even nylon tubes would be enough, but they're easier to cut/break. Whatever you do, do not overtighten the end-fittings at the gauge and the sender.
