it's quite an easy deal, you buy the WRX from PBMS they ship it, you get a VIN for it and just slap it on...

just like the Sierra Cowswotrhs running around in Canada with XR4-Ti VIN's and those EVO's too....

i just wnat to make it clear that i don't want to refer ANY dreamers to them as i am in good terms and currently buying a Group A motor and tranny from them now...

these guys are the real thing ... they're the Pacific's Prodrive...

i know it's not a shipload of money and it's a good deal for all that car.. but the ppl i deal with over there are not the after-market vendors... they're managment

they already deal with two very good teams in Canada so they're not strangers to us...

this being said, i'll be glad to help once more even if i never get anf effen gratitude from it...

oh and about the octane issue, here in NZ reular is 91 and anyone with a non modified WRX runs on it no prob... that latest Version 5 - 6 motor is apparently rocket-science says the head engineer at PBMS...

Question

Ownly,
Hey, if u bring one over, what about the issues of safety like 5mph bumper stuff and emmisions? I know its more difficult to bring over a car in Canada versus the US.

V.III: They're not bringing it in 'officially'. That's what the Impreza L is for. You register it as the L that you have, but really it's a WRX.

What a shame if it gets stolen though... your insurance co. will give ya money for an L only, and yer basically screwed.

Thats why you don't use it as a daily driver and you keep it somewhere very safe.

Have a Nice Day?

.....Thanks Stickee......I guessed I missed the whole topic.....(brain fade) . Well, it can be done if someone is willing to pay for it and do all the paper work. For a little more I paid, I just transfered everything from a dismantled V2&3 on my RS. So basically I have a V3....

Interesting that 91 would work given that is a stock WRX STi RA - maybe a remapped ECU for Australia?

8C might be right - but then, what's the fun in having the WRX RA if you can only drive it occasionally?

VIN for an L? Can we say loophole here? Don't EVER EVER get into an accident with this thing, 'cause 1) ICBC is not gonna be able cover the parts (reg'd as an L) and 2) waiting for the parts would be WAY TOO LONG!! (come to Canada, my stupid RS part!! ) (Edited for typo)

Joking aside, I found this interesting as all the reviews I have seen with the WRX are RHD, where as all the ones for the EVO are LHD. Funny huh?

well, my dealer in Canada gets all STi and WRX parts needed to support any WRX owner, no problem, they have one and race it and they have never had any problems getting the parts...
