Question armrest and guage pack?

I am going to be buying an rs in the next month or so, and was wondering about the extended arm rest option. Is it just something nice to have on a long drive? Does it get in the way when shifting?

Im just wondering if it is worth paying for.

also does anyone know the invoice and MSRP of the performance guage pack? I was trying to find it on Edmunds.com, and they only had info on the trip computer gauge pack.

also is the performance guage pack worh paying for?

[edit] I also couldnt find the cost of the leather interior. does anyone know the price?
thanks,
JS

First off, go to http://www.subaru.com and build your own car the way you want it. Print up the "window sticker" they offer and bring it with when you go to buy a car. That'll help save on some stuff.

Secondly, the armrest... Some people say it gets in the way, personally I love it and it never gets in my way. It took me about an hour to get used to it once I had it installed (had to order it so I drove without for a week), but I love it now.

The guage pack... well I didn't get that one but I don't think it is worth it, personally.

Thanks for the infor guys.

8complex, I have been to the website, but they don't have the invoice prices for the option. They only display the MSRP.

If anyone knows about the leather please let me know. Its just something that im considering based on cost.

regarding the gauge pack, I am talking about the one with the oil temp, voltage, and engine vacume displays...not the one with the compass and the trip computer.

Thanks

From what some people have said, getting aftermarket leather is the better way to go. I'm personally waiting for the ungodly high estimate to do my interior over in black and steel gray leather w/embroidery.

Thumbs up

I had leather put in my car after the fact. It cost ~1,200. I've had it for a little while now and I still love it. Pics here:

I have the performance gauge pack. I personally like it alot. It doesn't have any useful gauges (except oil temp of course) but its going to house my boost guage when I eventually get a turbo. I paid around 600-650 for it, pretty expensive, not to hard to install though. I've heard ppl who order the performance guage pack, getting the compass one instead, so be sure to specify to your dealer, you might want to consider getting the part #s before you order the car.

I recommend going to driveoff.com they give good prices and they also give the MSRP and the dealer cost. I didn't buy from them but i used their price to get mine at an even better one.

O yea sorry for going off topic but i love the armrest extender it pretty much makes up for not haveing a shortened stick i think because you can rest your elbow right there when you shift anyway.

Here's an idea.... Try going to a direct car order website (carorder.com/greenlight.com/etc) and build your car that way. Unless I'm mistaken, you should be able to view the invoice price of your options as well as the price it costs from the website. Good luck!
