Question Parking light switch

Parking lights.

Does anyone actually use these?? I'm referring to the switch on top of the steering wheel column.

I have driven Subaru exclusively for 5 years and have never used it. Every time I've ever need my parking lights only, I've been in my car and was able to set the parking brake.

I was thinking of using that switch for something else, like an igntion kill or fuel pump cutoff. Admit it, even people who own the car sometimes don't realize it's there, AND it looks factory.

As per the manual...
(I've read the whole thing, memorized most of it, here is my adridged version

Parking lights are equiped on your vehicle. Use the parking lights when you are parked in a location where your vehicle is in danger of being hit.

When I go some where to grab something then run back to my car (for got something at a friends house, etc.) and the street is dark (no street lights). I flip the button on and lock the car. Its also nice if you're just standing around your car in a dark area, provides you with light.
