Default how to pronounce...

...morette.



Is it:

1.) "mor-ett"

or

2.) "mor-ett-ee"



Anyone know for sure? Stupid question, I know, but still I have no clue and couldn't find it in the serach!

If this were universally true, machette would be pronounced "ma-shett", not "ma-shett-ee".

I know it's not a big deal, but since I have them on my car, I'd like to know how they're officially pronounced so I don't sound like a TOTAL renob (may be too late, though, !)

Hmm...I pronounce it mo-ret, but being that they're French-made, it could be pronounced mo-ray

And the full name is J. Morette, implying somebody's name, in which case any phonetic rules are out the window.

The "ette" makes it a hard "t" sound. If it was "et" it would be
and "eh" sound. So it would be "more-ret".
