Post Anyone use a topsider....

to change their oil? Its a pump that you stick in the dipstick tube to suck out the oil instead of draining it. I've seen it used on Mercedes Benzs and actually gets more oil out that draining.

I don't know anyone that uses one on their cars, only boats, but I've heard speculation that the heavier particles in the oil that settle to the bottom of the pan wouldn't be swept out when the oil was drained. However, like I said, that was just speculation, and I've yet to see any hard proof that one way is better than the other...

Sure would be nice to just suck it right out of the top, though...
