Post Rallycross in Az...

As Chief Organizer of The Prescott Forest ProRally, I want to extend a personal invitation to our RallyCross. It will be held in conjunction with the rally, on the SAME course that will be used by the rally. Sept 29th is the Rallycross. Tech and Reg is 7:30-8:30am FCO at 9:00. The rally will arrive around 4:45 and run the course at 6:00pm. Come out ant test your ability against some of the best in NA..

YES! Rallycross in AZ!

Bill,

Thanks for the invitation. I'm sure some of us will be interested. I certainly am. We have a local AZ Subaru mailing list. I will forward this to it tonight, when I get home (unless one of the other AZ folks does it first).

Sounds good to me, I'm probably down for a car or two. How come there's never any Rally t-shirts available. I've talked to teams that couldn't get tee-shirts. Any old ones squirreled away?

Thanks for the great responce, as the web site is not updated with the rallycross yet here's more info...

The stage is to be at the fairgrounds in Prescott. Same place as last years opening stage of the Rally. It is on the infield, all dirt. Packed dirt surface, no rocks, and will be a fast, but technical course. This will be our innagural rallycross, and if all goes well we (Arizona Rallysport Association) will be hosting 3 or 4 a year!!!

As far as the shirts goes... There are usually plenty left over from each event. At Gorman last weekend they were selling the last 2 years shirts for like $5.00 a peice.. We'll have plenty of Prescott shirts available If there's interest I can even get some shirts from Gorman and Rim, as well as Laughlin.... Let me know and I'll make sure we have other events' shirts...

Question

Bill,

I've been looking at the Prescott Forest Rally web page and I have a few questions.

Is there a registration fee and, if there is, how much?

I see that the Prescott Forest Rally is an SCCA Pro and club event. Is the rallycross part of this or is it a separate event?

Are SCCA members covered by the SCCA insurance at the rallycross?

Do we need any special equipment?

I'm sure there's more questions. If you're going to cover this on the web site later, just post the URL.

Thanks again for this opportunity. I'm really glad to see rallycross becoming available in AZ.

Hmm Since my Wagon will not be done, how about bringing my SHO? One thing is I think it will, um, have traction problems. lots of torque + FWD = wheel spin. Will that Piss people off?

Wink

Bring the SHO. It will help keep me from finishing dead last.

Hey, bring it to Firebird on Friday as well.

AZ-GT... unfortunately, yes.. they are still being printed. When they're done I'll sell ya one early..

Red... I'll answer the Q's now, as the RallyX page won't be up untill the weekend..

1.$$$$ Reg for the Rallycross is $20.00, that gets at least 3 runs, more if time allows.

2. The Rallycross is sanctioned as a separate event, but will be on the same course as the ProRally's last 2 stages, the Rallycross course.

3. YES, as this is sanctioned SCCA, all entrants SCCA member or not, will be covered under our blanket insurance.

4. If you have a helmet that would help. We are working on getting loaners from our Solo II group, and will more than likely have them, as we will have everything else from them... Basically, if you can run an AutoX you can run a RallyX.

5. There will be a link off of the main navigation bar at the top of the page by Sat PM...

The Arizona Rallysport Association is really looking forward to our future here. This years plans are strictly Prescott. Next years schedule include Prescott, The Great Snowbowl Hillclimb (yeah baby!!!) and 4 Rallycrosses. 3 of the RallyX's will be closer to Phoenix, we are looking at a location in the heart of Phoenix, a location in Buckeye, and one in Gilbert. The 4th will be Prescott. Possibilities include a points event with the SCCA and CRS, cash prizes, and a fantastic time "doin it in the durt"!!! The kicker will be involvement. I know the RallyX's will be slow at first, but if WE can get the attendance we need, sponsors and prizes are sure to follow. It is our business to host these events, and we will succeed in AZ!!!

I am looking for good places to put flyers for this first event to get the word out, if you have an in anywhere, let me know...

Um no love on Firebird, as I have school/work tomarrow, and I live in New Mexico.

I WILL plan on the Rally cross, but I don't think it will be dead last, maybe dead last in class though....

I simply have a random assortment of aftermarket parts that likely will shoot me into a sick modified class.

Unhappy

Yeah, that's what kinda' sucks about my car. The only real performance mod I have is an 18 mm rear sway bar. It blows me right into Street Modified. But, it'll be fun anyway. This way, the guys that beat me now will get a big surprise later.

Question

I will be there, I will be supporting everyone, not running. Hope to meet everyone.
Is the meeting place still the Prescottonian?
Last year was cool, being able to walk right up to car/and drivers and shoot the *****. It was cool and will be this year!

Yeah, the Prescottonian is still the host hotel. The cars will come to the fairgrounds at 5:00ish for a parc expose, then run at 6:00. Then it is back to the hotel for a party. Everyone is welcome to stop by and shoot the *****...

as far as classes goes... I believe we will be using Rally classes, not AutoX classes. I'll find out more about that later, if so, everyone will in similar classes, as there are only 5 Rally classes...

The new page is up, check it out...

I am NOT driving to Arizona again this year.

Why doesn't someone organize something around Chicago? It's driving me nuts that I can't go to a rallycross because there just plain ISN'T any around here.

Hiya Simon... That would be Bill Barfoot... Spread the word at Leons too. This event won't be for points, but next years series may be... Glad to hear you're comming out...

8Complex... Step up my man.... There are no RallyX's in Phx either, untill I hosted them. It's not really tough to do...

Hi Bill

I have been talking with Shen. I will be working at the rally but I have a question. Will I be able to run the rallycross. I currently have a ......Ahem....uh....Honda civic 4wd and would love to try this. At least others would not have to worry about being dead last. Please, no hate posts. I know I used the H word, but we all have our dirty little secrets. Thanks.
