Hey Everyone,
I am just writing to find out what kind of advice or help I can get. My situation is tryed to hook up A/F gauge lighting no prob. 3rd wire into ECU big prob. I know it is supposed to go into B17 tryed to find it no luck my cousin and I tryed some other spots we thought might be it we were fine for a while and then with one touch of the wire the car shut off and hasen't started since. The car will turn over but that's about all I get. does anyone have a solution to my proplem or an idea of what the prob. might be? As of now it will be towed to Subaru Tomm. thanks, Ken 02

Sounds like you may have fried your ECM. I would like to know why you were switching wires around off the ECM while the car was on. You NEVER EVER DO THAT and if you are taping into a circuit off the ECM you make sure you have the right pin selected.

Someone else locally did the exact same thing last week and it did turn out that the ECU was damaged.
Check your fuses first in case you blew one and got lucky but there is a good chance your ECU is toast.
Don't expect a free warranty replacement unless the dealer is feeling extremely generous as they will probably be able to tell the wiring was tampered with.
BTW those A/F gauges don't really do much since they tap off the rear 02 sensor which is narrowband and not intended for A/F monitoring, plus it is behind the first two cats.
