I used to auto-x an Automatic, FWD, 95 Eagle Talon Turbo.

Let me tell you it was a pain in the arse to keep boost. With the mods that I had, I could do a 14.6 1/4 mi in it. So it had the power, only when it got going.

If there's one thing I learned driving that car in an auto-x is how to use 2 feet to drive the thing. Foot on the gas and don't fully let up on the throttle, it keeps the rev's high enough and in the powerband to take off out of the corners, sometimes besting what you can do in a stick.

It just takes a little getting used to when you hear you're engine revving the same, but the car is slowing down.

Thumbs up

Yes and it is very competitive. I have beaten quite a few 2.5L manuals with my 2.2L auto.

2 Feet, 2 Pedals. You do the math.

Actually, webkris in the New England area is competitive in STS with his 2.2 Auto...codenamed "Slushbox".

Came in 4th out of 10 at the SCCA National Tour a couple weeks ago.
