My bro is a dj around DC and NY, DJ K and his partners are known as Hypermix. Check out their stuff at www.hypermix.net where you can download clips and get show info.

well, I just tried the URL and its been disabled. But it did work, hey nobody ever said DJ's make loads of dough to pay their internet providers bills. hehe

I also know Stacey Lynne who is a DC101 jockey. She is really cool, and a sorority sister of my wifes.

Hey chrisj, what club do you own, does it have live music, and do you DJ or play live? I've been playing out in several bands for about 14 years; we played Baltimore a few times (only an hour away), but not recently.

In fact, I got a hatchback (OBS) so I could haul amps, etc., in the back (ever try lifting a 100 lb. guitar amp out of a trunk? Not fun). Certainly handles much better than my old Ford van bandmobile!

I play mostly on weekends, so its either a good paying hobby, or a lousy paying job. But hey, I get to hang out with friends, drink beer, play music, watch girls dance, and at the end of the night, I get paid! Kewl.

I spin hip hop. I try to stay away from techno cause where I live (20 min. away from Independence, MO.. Meth capital of the world) anything relating to techno brings out the glow stick, drug happy freaks.
You all know what I'm talking about. Kids with HUGE pants, waving glow sticks, dancing (I guess) 2 inches away from the speakers, blowing vapor rub all over each other's faces.. Gaaawd!

Besides, being a bboy, it's too hard to breakdance to techno, unless it's jungle or breakbeat. Trance sucks. IHMO.. Not stuff you can really dance to... UNLESS YOU'RE ON DRUGS!!! Subie Gal knows what I'm talking about.

DJ Shadow is one of the few artists I'd pay ANY amount of money to see in concert. ANY AMOUNT!

The other would be Radiohead.

I play at big events all the time. I have spun with some of the biggest names in the industry. You can't down "techno" wich is the biggest stereotype in the world. I have two b-crews that come out just for my set, and I spin "techno" I would challenge ANY hip-hop Dj to a battle. I guarantee that I would rock the house 100 times better.

We are organizing a Dj battle in the spring. 10 min sets, hope to see all the hippity hoppity Djs out there. E-mail me fo rmore info.

~60MB Mp3?? That's what, an hour and a half long?

Sounds like somebody created an uncompressed Mp3. This is essentially a .wav file with an .mp3 extension. If you can switch the file extension to .wav and it still plays, you need to use an mp3 encoder to make a real mp3. A 60 meg file defeats the whole purpose of the format. A six minute mp3 at cd quality should be around 5-6 megs.

PM me if anybody needs help with this...
