does the height adj still work?

Yeah, everything still works, all I did was swap the bulbs.

The before pic of the 4300K HID looks like a halogen bulb The new one actually looks like 4300K HID.

Yes I agree, the stock STi HID's just are very HID'ish, at least not for me. I took a couple side by side pictures of the lights on my garage door, showing the Acura and the STi. I tried to take some head on photos, but my camera can't handle it.

the 6000k's *do* look good, but in general reflector type xenon's (D2R) dont look as good/bright as the projector ones (D2S). thats why they look more like halogens.
