Hey how about some famous stupid Shaq qoutes? Let's see first there was the one when he left college- "I intend to finish school in the normal amount of time no matter how long it takes." Wow Shaq you should have stopped there. Then there was his hurt kneee and not going to the All Star Game. "I'd like to go but the change in air pressure when you fly would hurt my knee so I won't be attending." OK Shaq maybe you haven't heard but years ago we invented this cool way of pressurizing the cabins of our planes. Then there was the money demands he had before he went to LA. "I just play basketball because I love to game, but I don't think I should have to play unless I get the $120,000,000 that I am asking for." Oh and another incredibly stupid one is his claims to be a Big Aristotle. No Shaq your just a uneducated freak of nature who gets paid incredible amount of money to play a kids game. Just because your agent has you memorizing some qoutes somebody else wrote doesn't make you one of the greatest thinkers in history. Besides without Koby and Rice they wouldn't have made it. I'm still a Larry Bird fan so I'd rather see them win.

Hey another stupid qoute. Mr. Chokem Sprewell about the Bobby Knight choking a player and no suspension. He said, "I don't think its right for anybody to choke another person and not be punished for it." Uh Mr Sprewell didn't you choke your coach and then file a lawsuit when you got suspended? Just another sign that we're going through a De-Evolution. Maybe I should of gotten a mortgage on a cave overlooking the ocean? I Bar B-Q with my new neighbors Uhg and Grunt.

N/A,

You really think that the Lakers wouldn't be winning without Rice? Glen Rice hasn't done anything since he came to the Lakers. And Shaq is the league's MVP. When he scores 30 points in a game the other team is happy that they "contained" him, when anyone else scores 30 it's a big game for them.

BTW, just because the cabin is pressurized doesn't mean that the air pressure isn't changing. Why do you think your ears pop when the plane is landing?

Tim, the reason I say they wouldn't be there without the others is because no one person can beat an entire team. You also can't take court without 5 people. According to my math Shaq is only one person.
Your right the airpressure does change in a plane. It however doesn't change dramatically. So how could it effect Shaq's knee? Also at the same time he didn't go tot he All Star game because his knee hurt he was in LA shooting another one of those stupid ass movies of his. I guess his knee wasn't that hurt.
Another note is that after the season ends the league is scheduled to do its yearly review and discuss any rules or scheduling changes. One of the top things that has been mentioned is that other teams want Shaq's use of his body to bump his way in close enough to dunk, his swinging the elbows, pushing and lowering his shoulder need to be corrected. He uses his weight advantage to push his way in close enough to dunk. That is more or less all he does. The lowering of the shoulder is already in the rules but it hasn't been enforced this year. It will be interesting to see how the meeting turn out though.
I'm not just against Shaq as I think there were alot of dumb-ass comments this year. There are also a few players who abused the rules or played questionably.

No doubt about it, Shaq didn't get the Lakers to the finals, the Lakers got the Lakers to the finals. If everyone's got all these problems with Shaq I got two words for them: TOO BAD. Its survival of the fittest, if you aren't a tall center who can bully his way around, then all you're good for is shooting the permiter shots and thats not what centers do. If other centers got a problem with it, then too bad. If they want to do something about it, then get bigger. Only thing they can do. Instead of whining and complaining they should get in that weight room, take some muscle supplements, get on a strict diet to gain weight, and they'll get just as big if not bigger than Shaq. I mean Shaq is big, but I wouldn't consider him buff or anything. I'd like to see some of the centers get big to the point where they are the size of the Mr. Olympia champions...of course...could they even still run? You shouldn't change the game because of one player's ability to overpower the other. I guess Shaq is just "blessed" with his "talent" of being a bully on little guys. With the stupid comments he made...Are we supposed to judge his ability to put the ball in the basket? Or his smarts? I don't really care how much intelligence any player has. I don't care if they have graduated high school. I just want to be entertained, and if a big guy who is uneducated is the one whos gonna do it, then I'll watch till his 5 minutes are over. But I must say that there is a point where the line must be drawn. $120 million is just BS. I don't understand why they get paid so much. Just fire all the people who want that much, and let the other players play. I mean its the NBA, the bench players must be good if they got in the NBA (I don't know about Knight though...). Fire Shaq, fire KG, fire everyone whos asking for their BS amounts. Just forget them. They are not worth it. I think its stupid how they get paid more than common day people. I cannot say much about work experience, as I am just starting college this fall...But I know my parents have put WAY more time and effort into their job than these people have put into their NBA "careers." OK I can see giving Shaq a couple million, maybe even 10 for a couple years. But thats it. If hes smart he'll invest it and double triple quadruple that money into enough to last his kid's kid's kid's etc. I don't know. The whole money situation I think is a bit hoaky. I just like to be entertained. Shaq entertains me so I'll watch him. I guess something has to be done with all those millions of dollars people are wasting. Oh well with all that said...
Go Lakers

Shaq can't score well beyond 6 feet from the basket. He should be a spokes person for Dunkin' Donuts. That's where the majority of his points are from - unlike Jabbar, Jordan, Chamberlain, Russel and many legends - they scored almost from any part of the court.

Well just to be fair I guess I can point out Larry Birds comment before the game started. He said, "I think who ever wins tonights game will win the championship." Uh Larry you do realize if LA wins tonight its over anyways right? As far as why I point out the stupid qoutes and general childishness of the pro ball players is because promoters, shoe companies, drink companies, clothing makers and the corporate world as a whole put these guys up on a pedastal and tell people that these should be our heroes and role models. I don't have kids but I know damn well these aren't the guys I want my kids to learn values from. Oh and in this series Glen Rice has shot 50% from 3 point range. It will be interesting how things play out with the salary cap and resigning players next season.
I was having deep thought and came up with a good way to cut costs in the pro sports. Just get the Mob involved. Think about it for a minute. Contract arbitration? Sure we can do that but don't get stupid with the requests. Free agency? Sure you can have that to but not when you just came into the league two years ago and signed a long term deal when you did. Those little exit clauses need to be removed. I can't tell my bank "Ya know I don't want to drive this car anymore so here just take it back I will go somewhere else." Holding out for idiotic amounts of cash? Nah then we send Bruno and the boys over to your house to smash your knee caps with a bat. Then you won't have to worry about player ball anymore. $60 for a nose bleed seat? That usually only insures that the rich can afford the games and the rich are too small a section of the population to market towards. They also don't buy all the team shirts, jackets, hats and other things. Then again I am going way off topic again. My bad.

Well the Lakers win. The fans being so happy for the rich guys who have no connection to them winning decide to go out and celebrate by rioting. This sounds almost like the EU 2000 game after England beat Germany for the first time in decades. Maybe the NBA should take the que from the EU teams. They are considering eliminating the England team from the games since the fans cause too much trouble. Now that would be interesting. The Lakers sit out next season due to the actions of its own fans. Now that would be poetic justice. Seems to me when the Bulls won they did the same thing there as well. Guess its back to my De-Evolution theory.

Neither Shaq nor the Lakers brought the Lakers to win. It's Phil Jackson. Last year we had the same team with the same guys but no PJ. They lost. Now with PJ, they are kicking rear arse.
Well the Pacers played well last night. Really hate to see the 4Q when LA reeled in and won. Did you guys see Mark Jackson's Hail Mary?! As he threw the ball I thought what is he doing? And then plop....it went in!!! Unbelievable. Almost like a movie.

"Yay we won!!! Let's jump through the fire!!!"

huh?

The funny thing was watching it back home (Raptor-land) they showed Phil and Shaq salute to the greatest fans in the world, then they show outisde people throwing signs and burning stuff (police cars too).

Actually I'm happy for Shaq, it's just Kobe, who i really hate.

PJ is not the only factor in the Lakers victory. He is a major role, but you have to look at how the team has matured. Kobe has really matured into a better basketball player, he actually gives it up sometimes. Not much of that seen during the series though was there? He's still young and learning how to play as a team. If he would have went to college and played ball, I think he would have matured much better with working on plays instead of individual pursuit. Oh well...Lakers won, seasons over.
Yeah for Lakers!

I think Portland should've open a can of whoop a$$ on the Lakers. I wonder which team will be able to take on the Lakers next year.

Stickee : The Raptors got a new coach! He's from Atlanta. Something Wilkens. Apparently he has the most winningest games as a coach in all of NBA. Err....yeah go Raptors.
