Thumbs up Special Thanks to Jake (Konklr), Keefe, and Ron for getting my car running!

Thanks to Jake for all the work and Keefe and Ron for the help and the use of their house and tools. My car is up and running now and it feels great. Jake took a lot of time out of his own free time and pretty much took my engine out, took it apart, rebuilt it, and put it back in my car, and got it running all by himself! I appreciate all the work done on my car and i am seriously in debt too all 3 of them. Just wanted to give Jake and all their props for a great job done!

Steve

PS-Thanks to Joey to for the engine hoist!

Glad to hear you finally got your car running. Its got to be a pain and suck to have a car that doesn't run.

Sweet. I look forward to that.

I'm also interested in what boost levels you will be running? The Ludespeed kits come with something like a 8-10 psi spring in the blow off valve. In order to run higher boost you may need to buy a new BOV or get your current one re-springed.

I was wondering the same exact thing. The kit includes a 4.4lb spring in the wastegate, and a TurboXS manual boost controller..... now just gotta figure out what to do about the muffler bearings heating up to much

I meant Wastegate.

That made me think though isn't the BOV springed for a certain PSI? I realize its only active while the throttle plate is closed but if you go from running 5psi to 14 I would think the BOV would leak boost even while the throttle plate is open.

If I'm wrong let me know. I'm hear to learn.

I didn't realize he was getting a MBC with it. Ludespeed's site doesn't mention a controller coming with the kit but only the Apezx-i AVCR as an option.

So does it work like this: Since the wastegate has a 4.4lb spring in it that is the max boost he can run? But since the boost controller is included he could taper boost down to a lower level?

If so whats up with that? I thought he was getting a stage III kit which should come with a 6.6lb spring.

Nevertheless if 4.4 is the max boost he can run then it looks like a respring or a new wastegate is in the future.

It's a modified LudeSpeed III kit, the 4.4 spring was used for first stage of tuning to be safe. The MBC allows you to turn the boost up to the level you wanna run. You can't run any lower than the waste gate spring. About the bov spring, you got me on that one. If he wants to he could get a boost control solenoid and operate it through the link, not the cheapest option but fairly neat way to go. See this link for details

So overall with the waste gate spring 4.4lbs would be the lowest boost level he could run, then on up with the MBC.

The kit includes:
w/TiAL 35mm external wastegate and SS piping(custom downpipe without cats). Turbo is a large T3/T04E.
Stock WRX IC (converted to side feed ) w/Forge BOV
RC 440cc injectors
Turbo XS MBC
Turbo XS Fuel press. regulator
Autometer Boost, EGT, and Oil Press. Phantom gauges.
Guage Housing (if needed)
Tapped oil pan for oil return line.
ALL coolant and oil lines for turbo
Custom intake and charge piping
Link Plus (plug and play)
Samco (blue) silicone connecting pipe
255l Walboro Pump
Summit Catch can
Derale Oil cooler
Stock header with EGT bung welded in

PS: All the above info is from what I've learned, if I'm wrong feel free to correct me.

How did you like the Link +?
