Post Its official, Impreza 2.5 RS moved from CSP to DSP

Just got my latest issue of SportsCar and it is in the Fastrack News. I hope this brings some relief to our fellow brethren fighting it out in CSP. Remember, next autocross you will no longer have to run in CSP (for cars running Street Prepared).

Anyone running STR alone or in a tiny class should also switch to DSP.

Underdrive pulley is legal in STS.

In DSP you could yank the AC entirely and run Shiv's TEC-II kit.

But no solid motor mounts.

(wow, editing threads doesn't make them "updated" any more.)

Are you sure about the pulley Colin? I thought the rule book said something like "engine must remain unmodified" for STS. I think most people were interpreting that as both internal and external mods. If the pulley is allowed then I'll put it back on.
Great news about DSP though. I'm sick of getting spanked in CSP. Do they sell Sports Car in book stores? Will it be there yet? I may need proof at our upcoming autocross this weekend.

The pulley issue was addressed in last month's tech bulliten. You can replace all your pullies and still be legal in ST

The 2000 STS rules did specifically disallow underdrive pullies.

However... I believe it was Tim K. himself that posted the news about the underdrive pulley being allowed again in STS, and again from FastTrack.

If you want to find the discussion, search for my username and pulley. I posted in the thread.

Sportscar is the SCCA magazine. If you're not a member, sign up. Should include a free subscription.
