I'll just swallow my pride and say yes. I could really go off here, but it's just not worth the energy. We've all broken these "rules" at one time or another...moderator, imprezident, or otherwise.

Well seeing as I agreed with alex last night when we were talking about it of course I agree wholeheartedly.

And just a small note to those who are into the self-governing movement. That just dosen't work. It's been proven time and time again. When we took the hands-off approach the board got a way out of control and we had members leaving left and right. If you don't recall ask people who were here about 6 months ago.

Let me first say how much I personally appreciate the work of the founders of this board. With a vehicle with as small an aftermarket and enthusiast presence as Subaru has, this board is invaluable. To me, the work that must have gone in to the creation of this site is unimaginable.

Let me then respond. Nay.

I'm a big hippie self-moderation advocate also. Let the jerks flame on their own and burn themselves out. I've also seen a lot of overly aggressive and inconsistent moderating here in the past couple weeks.

Now, as a previous poster said, It's your board, you're the boss. So you can do what you want. But please don't cloak your action in a veil of "We're one big happy family, these actions are for the good of all, and I'm sure we're all of one mind here." Because we're not, and that's why the overly aggressive moderating is offensive to many. I'm the first to agree that profanity, obscenity etc has no place here. But the statement in the rules that we're of many different backgrounds, genders, races etc cuts two ways. In the same way, many different opinions will need to be expressed. With overly aggressive moderation, we end up with a board that's only about tech, that culturally is dumbed down, middle American, and middlebrow. Which is fine, it's a car board, we can go elsewhere for culture. But it does make the iClub a lot less unique and interesting. That's your choice, and apparently that of the moderators and a majority of the members posting here.

That is funkin' crap.

*****ty

...and then the guy in a Mustang just vanished in my rearview. The last thing I heard was, "Wait, my e-brake is still on!!!!".

Alex I am so tired of your crappy moderating and I have decided that we as a group should vote in someone else since you have problems with things that are sufficient to make us believe that moderation is too stressful for someone of your obvious lower class and improper upbringing and therefore insufficient 'stage' in life.

I am glad Imprezer made these points.
The moderators do have hard jobs and they are only human.
Moreover, if any of us don't like anything that is said here, we have the option to just leave, which I can personally say solves more problems than anything.

1) I'll agree to whatever those in power want, or I'll leave. I suggest that everyone else does also.
2) Mel - She's not in a bra/underpants, that's a bathing suit, somewhere in between bra/underpants and shorts/shirt. And totally legal. You won't see the cops stopping her (except to get her number) on the street.

A hearty AYE from yet another old timer. 98% of us behave and play nice, It is always the remaining 2% that need a little "Guidance" now and then. You all have my vote.

This place should be a model of a responsible, mature purchasing power that can directly effect what SOA does. 3000 people, all with the same make of car is a very loud voice. How it is heard is up to us.
