Default Dead low beams and DRL

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I cannot seem to find a difinitive answer using the "search" button.

I've had my STI light (on my 2002 WRX) for about 3 months. Just noticed that both low beam/DRL lights are not working. I know they were working a few days ago because I was checking them out while my wife drove the car into the garage.

I've check both H/L fuses in the fusebox in the engine compartment and both look fine. Highs, Fog, "City Lights", and Turn signals all are fine.

Outside of two blown bulbs, what else could it be?

Thanks for any info!

It could very well be two blown bulbs. Take them out and inspect them visually and if they look ok measure them with an ohmeter. No need to go crazy looking for electrical problems when there may not be any.

Thumbs up

Mulder: You da man!

I gotta admit I doubted that I had two blown bulbs at the same time. But I was wrong!

The guy I bought the lights from had 100watt bulbs in there. I backed it down to 55 watts. Hopefully these will last a little longer.

Thanks!
John

Yeah, 100W bulbs without upgraded wiring are bad anyway, aside from the fact that they are expensive and burn out quickly. Good move going back to 55W.

Wow. I have the same problem. (Imagine it happening to me within 10 days of the original post.) I hope I'm as lucky as jbilbo. Otherwise I'm sure this could get muy expensivo.

BTW is there a relay for the headlights in a 97 OBS?
