Question Jingling?

I was doing some mudding in the RS yesterday. Normally I don't condone taking a car into a truck's domain, but my friends where down from Oregon and wanted to go. (Usually I take my Jeep but, the last run claimed a muffler and it now makes a god-awful noise upon starting) So, being the stupid teen I am I took the RS. While it performed well it makes a really annoying jingle whenever it hits a bump. It sounds like its coming from the steering column. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks, JC.
P.S. I don't think this is technical enough for the tech forum, which is why its here.

I think it is normal for the RS's to make soem noise in the steering column. Mine does it once in a while when i'm turning and i hit a bump. There has been some discussion on this one but i think we found it to be normal. I remember soem post about this. try a search unless someone else has something to add.

Ya, but it just started after I took it off-roading. Its sounds like a cover fell off or something. Plus it does it all the time, even when I shift.

JC
you might want to check the heat shields under the car
you might have bent them a little and they hit the tranny or the drive shaft
they are the thin aluminum plates under the car and they bend easily
best of luck
