Here's my time from last Sun. It was my second and final run of the day. I really only wanted to do better than my first time which was before I went Stg.2. This is only Stg.2 plus a near empty tank of fuel and no spare. I'm happy with my results.
![]() EDIT:Sorry I forgot to mention I was in the right lane. |

these are my three times (keep in mind this is my first time ever racing my car at drag course)
#1(dccd Auto) #2 (open) #3(auto) r/t .211 .264 .488 60' 1.959 1.790 1.759 330' 5.802 5.541 5.387 660' 8.939 8.648 8.432 mph 78.05 78.68 80.01 1000 11.590 11.279 11.019 1/4 13.8 13.627 13.255 mph 99.57 90.08 99.19 Couple of questions for any one who can answer I dropped my clutch every time around 6000 rpm and shifted around 8000rpm, but every time right before the finish in fourth gear around 7600 rpm my waste gate would open and i loose power i would eventually shift to fifth. any ways what is the 1 to 1 ratio gear in a 04 sti and will i get a better time just shifting it into fifth. (mods are intercooler esx, short ram intake, aftermarket bov, i just got boost guage controller, exhaust) |

One word... Practice. I hate a lot of the trees the drag strips use around where I live. After I stage the 3 yellow will light then green really fast. This doesnt give a chance to launch too good using the method where you floor the car repeatedly. I just hold the car around 3500 and when the three lights go yellow I floor the car and try to time coming off the clutch as perfect as I can. Your RT and 60 will tell you how well you are doing this. I usually dont smell any cutch and I dont side step it or anything. Just let off pretty quickly without shocking the drivetrain. My best RT is .464 which isn't too bad I guess but my 60 is pretty good according to what i've researched. Shoot for a low 1.7 60 and that will show you a big difference. Also, I launched with the DCCD in Auto.

My first track day with my STI ever yesterday. Was cool out, around 55F. Car is Stage 2 Cobb, stock VF39 and Pirelli P zero nero m+s tires. My first runs were awful as the car got too much grip and bogged. But I finally got some wheelspin and made this pass: (im car 440)

I went last week (first time)
First run of the day: r/t: .472 60': 1.935 330: 5.484 1/8: 8.466 1000: 11.010 1/4: 13.345 mph: 90.07 Fourth run of the day: 1st bracket race of the day 1/4: 16.671 MPH: ~87 ???? That would have been the best run of the right up until the tmic seperated from the throttle body about 2/3 track at full boost. So I dont have the time slip since I tore it up and threw it away on my way back to the lanes. . Last edited by 0225wrx; 05-24-2007 at 04:59 PM. |

First time at the track, last run
Was overcast, 85 and humid as hell. Car is stock, 92 octane and DCCD set to rear. Held at about 4500 at the tree, decent launch, not very hard. Shifted at about 6700 every time, getting into 5th about 2 seconds before I crossed the line. ![]() Had a .092 reaction on another run, wish I could of had it here ![]() Was wondering what everyone is doing with DCCD? I really had mixed times in auto mode considering it was my first time, didn't get consitant launches. Also heard the turbo squealing in later gears a couple times after I had let the car stay cool...this run was right after another run. Last edited by Gone Subin'; 06-25-2007 at 07:29 PM. |
