Angry First National Bank of Omaha sucks!!!!!

I used to have a credit card with Fleet until they went under and moved their accounts to 1st Omaha.

I get a bill in the mail for $100.00. my minimum payment is usually $53.00. I call in customer service and they tell me that the last payment I sent to Fleet did not reach them so they credit me for it.

Sept bill arrives: $53.00 minimum. I send in $100.00.

October bill arrives: $53.00 minimum. due on October 31.

Last night I get a letter in the mail from them stating Im late?

I call their customer service department. Ok get this, they billed me 2 times for Sept????? Sept 2 and Sept 27. I ask to speak to a manager and this idiot comes on the phone. He says I owe them $7.00 because the 100.00 I sent for Sept didnt cover both sept bills.

I was like "You pay bills at home too right? How many banks do you know that bill people 2 times/month?

He's all "Well sir as long as there is 25 days between the bills it's ok.

So basically I paid for finance charges 2 times with that $100.00 I sent and owe them $7.00 on the bill I sent today for $100.00

Can anyone make any sense of this? Am I in the wrong here or is this normal?

Hey hey now.

I work for FNBO. I work in equipment financing, but I know a lot of people tha work in bank card.

Bankcard recently acquired Fleet bank because they were a good fee income resource. Fleet I hear was under water to begin with. You probably got lapsed between billing cycles. We can fix that. You simply call the number on your statement.

Personally, I have paid finance charge twice with my GM card with Household bank. It's one of those things. It happens, i wne over my monthly and billign cycle, which is costly.

I'll PM you, we dont take that lightly.

I've been on this board for a few months now and I have to admit there are some helpful people in most of the forums but damn is OT the only forum with all the arrogant asses?

You don't care about my problem then don't freakin post. Do I make comments on every post I see on OT and don't care about ? no I don't. If you got nothing nice to say don't say it.

Oh and for your information this post might have possibly SOLVED my problem considering someone who works for that bank left me his phone number with extension after seeing this post.

Thanks WRXed I'll give you a call Monday to see if we can resolve this.

That's fine man sorry for going off on you. You just had to hear that manager's attitude on the phone. I don't get upset easy but damn was he indifferent.

For sure WRXed. I'll give ya a call. If it's bank policy that's fine but I just found it odd. Can you imagine getting billed for your car payment 2 times in the same month?

It happens.

The time you sign for your card, and the monthly billing cycle is always different. So if there is any deviance, you will get billed twice. I think the bank has a policy that if you dont get the payment in the day it is due, it will invoice again. Its probably just lost in the mail. Just check the invoice date. 7$ isnt bad. HHbank nicked me for $30 for the LC and $30 for the over limit fee. Im not broke, but I was travelling a lot, and airline tix, hotels gas food put me WAAAAY over my limit.

I hate USPS. Period

TT you monday.

The $7.00 isnt a big deal. My minimum payment is usually $53.00.

I send $100 every month. $53.00 of it for the finance charge and the rest to knock off some principle. Because of this billing mishap I ended up paying the finance charge twice and nothing off principle AND end up oweing $7.00 (thats $53.00 2 times = $106.00). These are just rounded figures.

Thanks alot man I appreciate it. I work for customer service and woulda done the same if a brand new customer had this kinda experience for the first time. The lady that welcomed me to the bank and activated my card was very polite and professional. As for that caffeine infested "I need a T-shirt that reads: I hate my life and I want to die: " so-called manager. boo to him!
