Post rising fuel regulators....

Which type are people using? I know that Bell, Cartech, Weapon R all have rising fuel regulators, but what makes one different from the other? Which would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,
Nirmit

WeaponR is crap.

Tom is using Cartech because that's what he's used in the past and it's worked fine. Of course, if you like, you can get a Holley or Bell or whatever brand name makes RRFPRs...but as long as it does the job...

Bell and Cartech are the same thing. If you look at their addresses and phone numbers they are exactly the same

I too have heard that WeaponR is crap.

I am going with a Vortech SFMU. It seems to have more adjustability, but it does cost a bit more. I am going with it mostly due to the fact Bell wasn't going to have any more made for over 3 weeks when I called them, and I am impatient.

BTW Teague sells the Bell unit as well for $199. Might as well give the business to a Subaru vendor, if you want the Bell

Question

Are you guys using fuel pres. regulators on N/A cars? I was told that if your only running intake, header and exhaust, you will not see much differance.Have you ran into any engine lights? Whats your take on this and what have you done to your cars? Would you recomend new sti engine/tranny mounts or a regulator?

i was using a weapon-r fpr, i put it at 47psi initially and it squealed like it had an air leak (which it didnt), it wasnt until i put it to 50psi that the sound went away and i noticed considerably better throttle responce. but then i started having problems and started stripping out my parts (came to be a loose afc wire) and i could really feel how much of a difference it made when i took it out. i havent used any others, but i would say that i was pretty happy with the weapon-r, its just a pain to install (as would any) so its not back in yet.

as for mods, i had intake, exhaust, fpr, and afc.

hope this helps a little.
