Default Took pics of the sunrise over Shenandoah Valley today...

....pics are in RAW format and are HUGE so I can't post them.

But I just wanted to let ya'll know that despite the cold autumn weather in the mountains of Shenandoah, you can still get a NASTY SUNBURN! My face is torched like a steamed lobster. And I didn't take THAT long to take pics coz it was getting CLOUDY. Yeah...cloudy. And I got a sunburn on the face. Driving towards to rising sun must have done it the worst. ouch...

I thought photography was supposed to be painless.

and it's unlikely it was the driving that caused it. your windshield is pretty heavily UV filtered. it's more likely that you haven't seen sun in like 7 years and that caused it!

Almost heaven west Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains Shenandoah river
Life is old there older than the trees
Younger than the mountains blowin' like a breeze
Country roads take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home country roads
All my memories gather round her
Miner's lady stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine teardrop in my eyes
Country roads take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home country roads
I hear a voice in the morning how she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Drivin' down the road I get a feelin'
That I should been home yesterday yesterday
Country roads take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home country roads
Country roads take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home country roads
Take me home country roads
Take me home country roads

That John Denver song is know internationally. It's scary that more people out of the country know that West Virginia is a state, and not the left part of Virginia, then do the people who actually live in the country.
