Default Dislodged brake pads?

I posted this in the impreza forum but I thought it might be helpful to ask everyone instead of just impreza owners.

Anyways, I recently washed my car and the rims and after I noticed that my brakes were making more noise than before. I used a medium sized flat brush and washed the inner part of the rim (the area near the rotor, I was able to fit the brush in between the rim and the rotor). Did I somehow loosen or dislodge my brake pads or mess up the caliper or the rotor somehow? It sounds like something is scrapping against the rotor, similar to when your brake pads out worn and that piece of metal is scrapping against the rotor itself. Help!!! Thanks!

You probably just have a stone between the rotor and the dust shield.

It could be that you bent one of the wear indicators on the pad against the disc....
