Default Best Roads!

I just bought my WRX last weekend and I have been searching for the best roads to drive it on.

Here is my list....

Point Reyes (long, fast, hills, simple high speed curves, very little traffic)

Bolinas-Fairfax (long, very windy, tight-tight curves, very little traffic)

I also like H1 from Marin to Stinson beach, but way WAY TOO MUCH TRAFFIC!

What are your favorites?

Talking Great Site!

I notice he had a couple of the roads I mentioned in there.

I have done the following great drives in my CJ7, can't wait to take the WRX on them!

Ebbets Pass HWY 4 (goes single lane in some places with no dividing line ) - But very little traffic - NO TRUCKS OR RVS

Mattole Rd (Lost Coast) - NO TRAFFIC AT ALL. I went all day without seeing a single car. Great road - some gravel.

Tioga Pass (Yosemite) - this is a must, but you have to hit it during the right part of the year to avoid traffic. Stop in the Meadows and take it in. Great Road - but traffic sometimes.

Bohemian Highway - great sweepers and little traffic.

Coleman Valley Rd - fun drive but the road has some pot holes - some narrow single lane approaches. no dividing line Very little traffic.

Anyone have other recommendations.

Thanks for the great site soundwave! I will be checking out some more of those rides.

My 4 favorite roads so far (all on pashnit.com)

4) Patterson Pass (Livermore)
3) Wentworth Springs Road/Ice House road (Georgetown, up here by sac, probably the best road in terms of nobody there vs. twisties, ease of getting to, and no police pressence at all)
2) Highway 36 (between Red Bluff and Eureka, by far one of the best highways on the planet!)
1) Mosquito Ridge road (by Foresthill... However, it now has a permenant police pressence which scares me from even going back there... But it still is the best most twisty and empty road ive ever seen!!! )

Smile KOOL

I will check them out...

The mosquito road sounds great and thanks for the heads-up about the rollers. Are they parked or making runs?

Have you ever headed out to Point Reyes? That has some fast sweepers, hills, very little traffic, maybe 4 - 8 cars in one direction, and no rollers! Sometimes a ranger, but that is it.

Two Subie related driving things planned in the North Bay in November

"I Can't drive 35" a 100 Mile 5+ hour run/work TSD rally on the 2nd,

then "Geysers and Dirt" a 200+ mile tour of some of the sickest roads we can get to in one day on the 22nd

PM me for more info on either......

Its one cop I think, permantly assigned to that road (IE 10 hours per day, 5 days a week probably...) that also has the help of a spotter plane. They are mostly on the look out for street bikes, but anything fast will catch their attention... Personally, I havent seen them, but there are horror stories over on pashnit about it.

Ive been to point reyes, ya. But all those roads I listed are far better
