Unhappy This is absolute torture....

I "purchased" my 99Rs 2 weeks ago, and I have driven it only 1 day. My bank screwed up, sent the previous owner's title (with his signature on it)off to get processed and lost it. Now they tell me that I have to go apply for a lost or stolen title. What a bunch of crap. I don't think I can even do that, since the previous owner still technically owns the car. So now I get to stare at my new subaru, sitting in the driveway with no plates. POO!

If that doesn't work, maybe talk to somebody at the DOL/DMV about it. Try a supervisor or somebody who looks like they care. They might be able to send a friendly "note" on DOL/DMV letterhead suggesting that the bank get with the program.

That's funny. I mean, as a third party it's funny.
"It's only funny if it's not happening to you."

That said, The bank really ownes your car unless you pay cash. Shouldn't THEY be the ones filing for the lost title? If I were you I'd start making phone calls. I used to work at a smallish bank (150 emp, 10 branches) and all it really took was to start making calls up the chain. It was easy to get ahold of the CEO/President, and he would listen and go ask people what was up.
