Post Getting Rid of Ashtray/Adding drink holder?

I know there is already a cup holder underneath the armrest extension, but on some Nissans (altimas I think) ythey have a cup holder where the ashtray should be. This would be so much more accessable. Does anyone have any idea with how you would go about doing this mod?

Hell my Pepsi boils at the vent ahve to drink them pretty fast because of that. I'm Pepsi Co. does not mind. The drink holder in the center console is to akward. Down where the ashtray would be sweet. If anybody gets it to work please do post pics.

The main problem I see is that the ashtray is so close to the gear shifter, it might make it a little unfeasable to go into park on auto trannys :-)

Since a bunch of Nissan/Subaru parts are interchangeable, go to the Nissan dealer with your ashtray, get into the Altima, and see if it'll fit. If it does, go to their parts counter and order the cup holder.
PS the Sentra and Impreza window switches and lock button are identical.

Sweet idea! I hate when my drink drips down onto my CD player! If you get it to work try and put up some pics.
