Default 6MT STi short shifter linkage kit

Anyone have any experiences with the short shift linkage kit STi sells for the 04 WRX STi? Either by driving a car with one on or just shifting the lever?

The brochure say it provide a 10% throw reduction compare to the stock WRX STi's already kinda short shifter.

I am just wondering if it is worth getting.

Thanks ahead.

plus if the install is like the wrx short throw factory shifter you will be tearing out your hair trying to install it on your back. It is a breeze with the tranny sitting on the ground though.

Yes it look the same as the wrx short throw factory shifter, except it is for the 6-speed:

Japanparts have them for $290

we looked into makeing one (thanks KEN for the car) but its was a nightmare to do
EVERYTHING on that shifter is different. we will however have some shifter bushings for the car shortly. those alone made a huge difference in the shifter setup.

also getting that shifter setup out was another nightmare too...
