Default Headlight upgrade for '98 LOB

Has anyone tried earlier ('95-'97, IIRC) headlights in a '99-'00? The earlier ones are 9003/h4/hb2-based, and should be upgradable, pehaps having better output even at stock wattages.

Not too sure I'd retrofit older headlights onto a newer LOB. My wifes '97 LOB's headlights are atrociously bad. Nothing much can be gained with the lights due to the lens design. It has been posted here that Silvania Silverstars help. I have actually looked into fitting her car with 99 LOB headlights with the clear lenses like my RS. My RS's headlights are great.

Mine's actually a '98, dunno why I wrote '99. But I find the 9006's to be awful. Low beams are acceptable only because of the foglamps; high beams are absolutely useless.

And silverstars, at least the version sold in the US, have been panned elsewhere - the euro version is different. The earlier H4-based units at least offer the possibility of upgraded wattage (with upgraded wiring).

Perhaps Morettes are the only real choice.
