Unhappy need some subie help, engine troubles...

All yesturday my 2002 wrx sedan was running different tha other days. It was as if i was boosting with my Apex AVC-R but i was not,my thing is switched to Settings: Off. I kept driving though nothing of it cuz it was boosting more powerfull and i figured it was the cold air helping. Well anyways, I am crusing down the 15 freeway and as soon as i shift, after the scream from the BOV the car dies and i coast off the freeway. Also the check engine light came on. I couldnt figure it out cuz throttle was sensitive and boost didnt seem stock,i have a Apex AVC-R and a S-AFC2 and i havent touched them at all, they always stay on stock settings cuz my engine is not ready to use them. So i wake up this morning and unplug batter to get rid of engine light and i am listening for noises but everything sounds fine and the car starts again but some reason the throttle is very powerful (same as night before). I check hose for boost controller to make sure it didnt come off and it was fine. I cant pinpoint a problem, i am driving it without going over 3,000 rpms. I just dont know what to do,cant take it to the dealer with controllers on it and i need to find a unofficial subie tech in ontario area, can anyone help me out? my mods consist of
Apex AVC-R
Apex S-AFC2
Blitz DTT
Turbo XS Type H-RFL BOV
K&N filter
Apex N1 Exhaust

Thanks for any help you can give me.

If the CEL comes back, you should have the code pulled, that will help us help you.

Normally I'd suggest going to an Autozone, but I'm not sure if that chain is in Canada. Scan tools are available at most auto parts stores. There is software available for purchase along with a cable that you could hookup with your laptop, but it's not exactly cheap. PocketLogger.com has software for Palms and OBD-2.com has software for laptops, IIRC.

Default whoops...

i live in ontario california, 909 area code, not canada. I should of clarified . Well i unplugged battery for 5 minutes and pluged back in to get rid of the CEL but its still running the way it was when it stalled. I was told it could be my K&N drop in filter since im driving around right next to the grand prix fire out here,I havent changed my filter in about a year but it doesnt look to dirty... but its possible it could be time for new one?

You should only need to clean and re-oil the K&N filter, you shoudln't have to replace it.

Default hmmm

how often should a drop in filter be cleaned? Some reason i am doubting a dirty air filter would cause my car to stall going 50 mph while shifting gears on the freeway but cleaning it would help.

Default MAF Sensor

I've heard that the MAF sensor can register a CEL error if the K&N filter is over oiled, for that reason I've been afraid to buy one, even though I've had good performance on my other (non-fuel injected) vehicles. You could try cleaning the sensor & resetting the computer.
