Post Intake and fuel pump...

Anyone here install an intake yet? I talked to someone @ JC Sports and they told me since I'm in california (sea level) I should also get a fuel pump as I would run a little lean after 5k rpm's with out it?
Does anyone else see this problem? Is getting a fuel pump worth the $225 price tag? Is there another alternative to this?

I'm in San Jose btw.

You should never listen to anything JC sports tells you, especially if it's "we'll ship that next week!".

But seriously.. fuel pump? No, you just need to increase fuel above about 5500 rpm, and that's only if you have a 99, the 2000 doesn't have this problem. The best tool for this if you have a 99 is an APEXi Super AFC. The 99 is almost not even worth running intake on, might as well just turbocharge it.

I've been thinking about building a little box that sits on the tach/MAS wires and just increases the MAS voltage by 20% after 5500 rpm. It would cost like $10.

It might run a little rich, but that's nothing to worry about.
