Thumbs up Lake Superior ProRally Pics

These are most of the pics I took of the cars at the service areas, a few turns, and a start. Among them are pics of many Imprezas, and..... ermmmm.... EVO's.....
In fact a black RS was the first pic I took when I jumped out of the car, I was so excited to be there I failed to recognize that it wasn't a participant in the rally. I spotted alot of Imprezas throughout the weekend not involved in the rally, on the road. Who was there?

Thanks for the comments on the pics guys. I don't use the camera much and forget some functions sometimes. I wish I would have remembered to slow the shutter speed down for the start pics...... they threw alot of dirt when they took off, (I felt sorry for the starter getting peppered by each car) but the camera just froze it in the air, and not much showed up.

Bonzo- HEY! Were you in "farmer John" pants? I think that you parked behind us (white 92 VW Passat, long red coat/camo pants when ?you? drove up) late in the morning at the spectator area where Auto Value was giving away hot dogs and frisbees.

Jewbaru- HA HA! The Goon in the bushes was the guy I went with.

Joe Z- I agree that there are many better choices for a rally car than a Mustang ...... But since the event isn't a completly professional one, I bet they run them mostly for fun than any visions of glory.
However the reason that they made onto my film was the they have a bit of heart value. The blue 5.0 is a exact image of the 87 blue notch back that my wife was driving when we met street racing the ponies. There was a car that was very simular to the 88 GT that I drove, but I kept missing it! I didn't miss the yellow one, mostly because I could see it a mile away, and I think it was the one that you could hear from that far too.

Steve d- Hey.. cool! Probably is you, that was the only black RS I saw all weekend. I don't remember if it had Indiania plates, but it didn't have the OE lights in the lower bumper.

took a look at the rest of the pics.

the #55 golf was the car I crewed for.

I must have been standing next to you when you took that picture. I have the exact same one.

so you're saying my fog lights are not the OE lights?

If it was your car, no they were not the OE lights(as far as I could tell) The ones in the Black RS in the pic were almost *P1*ish.... Maybe it was the color and such... but it looked like they had a little surround encircling smaller lights in the fog location. I supose that it could be the OE lights with some sort of mask applied. *shrug* either way, under the circumstances that I saw them they looked pretty good.

WOW! What are the odds of that! (skips off humming "Its a Small World Afterall")

Wow, what a coincidence! Yahhh that was me in my bibs My "farmer john" get up is most comfy when putting on miles. I planned a great route thru many untravled and curvy roads thoughout northern Wisconsin on the way up. It was great chance to "bond" with my Scoobie. btw I drove the last stage (Gratiot II) after they were done. I was a little nervous about taking out a wheel with all them rocks. I did get on it quite a few times tho:-)

As for the Mustangs, they were great to watch. totally sideways all the time. Big power turning two wheels.

Hmmmm... I guess that the color clued me in right when I looked at it for the first time ..... then the size. I like 'em!

My "farmer john" get up is most comfy when putting on miles. HA! Thats why I wear the fatigues for trips too... adjustable waistband tabs!

We did the same on the way back.. But not because we planned it....
