Exclamation If you drop your cellphone in the toilet, let it go

Don't strand thousands of commuters by getting your arm stuck in the toilet.

"A man's arm got stuck in the toilet of a commuter train when he tried to fish out his dropped cell phone _ halting his train and sending delays throughout the rail system.

Thousands of commuters were delayed and several trains were rerouted while rescue workers tried to pull him out, a Metro-North Railroad spokesman said Thursday."

Who uses a public toilet on the train while talking on their cell phone? That's a rolling portapotty...

Speaking as someone who sold cell phones for more than a year...

Would you believe the NUMBER ONE thing that seemed to break phones was the toilet plunge?

It's true! We saw SO MANY phones that had gone into the porcelain bowl, I could scarcely believe it! Usually the people weren't using the phones at the time, something about taking down your pants seemed to just magically propel the phones out of a pocket or off a belt loop and right into the target.

It got to the point that we wouldn't even touch a phone until we got a full explanation of why it wasn't working. (people were embarassed to tell us straight off)

Several times customers walked in and said "uh, my phone's not working too well." I'd simply respond "how long was it in the toilet?"

"Only a few seconds!"

Also:

Fresh water, indeed, may not destroy the phone. If you get it out fast, seperate it from the battery and dry it out, it could be just fine.

Salt water will instantly and permanently kill it. Worst one I saw had gone for a dip in Long Island Sound. Apparently the lady had been sitting in her friends new Audi TT down by the pier, and her friend was trying to hook up some kind of small trailer to the TT so they could tow a jetski out of the water.

She had failed to properly engage the handbrake. The TT rolled backward into the ocean.

Next time one of you buys a new cell phone, go to a public toilet, drop a bomb, and toss your old cell phone in the bowl. Then sit in the next stall for and wait for some retard to fish it out. That would be entertaining.
