I put the Greddy EVO on my WRX a few weeks after I got the car. It now has 14,000 miles on it. I'm one of the seemingly rare people who wants to gain horsepower without being loud. I think the Greddy is perfect ... a nice low rumble at idle that increases with RPM, but is never obnoxious. I'm not trying to draw attention ... just gain about 10HP and a "sporty" sound. I also don't need decals all over my car either ...

I have the Greddy EVO exhaust and if I could take it back, I'd do it again. Its a great exhaust of great quality. Greddy (Trust in Japan) are not newcomers to the game, and they are a respected brand cause they make power while maintaining stock specs as much as they can. For all you younger guys out there, yeah it was cool to be loud but sooner or later you're gonna change your taste. I had a Tanabe exhaust for a couple years on my civic and that thing was deep and loud. There came a point where its a PTA when you can't hardly talk on your phone when riding on the freeway, you get pulled over one too many times for it, or you can't have a calm conversation with a girl thats riding with you. The EVO fits fine and I think the idea of the offset to tuck the muffler underneath is pretty smart. I love HKS and almost got the carbon-ti, but I saw how low the piping sits. God forbid I lower it, I can already see its fate when trying to go in or out of a high bank concrete entrance into a parking lot. I definitely felt an increase in power when I put it on, but yet it barely sounded louder than stock. I am now catless with perrin up/downpipes, and its still very quiet and I love it. The look and sound contributes to the sleeper look. I dunno about you but I like to stay under the radar of law enforcement.

greddy evo isn't all that much louder than stock, as has been said already. I have hks uppipe/downpipe and it sounds pretty damn aggressive when you get to higher rpm's. not overly loud or obnoxious, but certainly not weak sounding either.

try living in a area where the cops will give you a ticket for setting off an alarm in a parking garage and you'll soon understand why you want such a quiet exaust.
