If I were you I would get the JE pistons and turbo your car. It would be easier than doing all of the wiring and probably cheaper...not to mention you have a rare engine already.
Take it easy, Micah

I agree with Micah... I have researched for months and months and months (seems like forever). I'm going turbo with AVO kit then WRX block and some RS or WRX heads. MUCH MUCH EASIER.
FYI - For I-Speed to do a swap, it is $2500 labor + Cost of parts... It does sound so damn sexy... a WRX-powered GC/GM/GF Impreza but it is a ****load of work... I might go for the EJ20 instead of AVO turbo kit... I'm very indecisive...

I went with the WRX engine instead of turboing the weak EJ18 motor I had. If I had-had your car I would have turbo'd it. Just my personal opinion.

Wait... Vancouver... Like Vancouver, WA?
If so, you should talk to Rallitek in Portland. They should be able to do the swap as they would/will with me. Pretty cheap too (comparably, I mean). My plan is to install the motor and have it towed to Sean @ Rallitek (since I know I can do the mechanical aspect of the swap and know I can't do the wiring) and have them do the wiring or either the stock ECU or maybe a Link if I have the money.
Anyways, good luck and I hope to join you on the darkside
